COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Buffalo Brewfest 04. Black pour, tan head. A decent hoppy aroma. Lots of bitterness in taste, with a full bodied oatmeal/grain taste. Sweet finish, creamy and very good.

Pours very dark, very black. Aroma is that of roasted coffee, as well as some chocolate. Flavor up front is of sweet chocolate. Finish is sweet with a little bit of roasted malt flavor. Not extremely roasted, more on the sweet side. Quite a tasty little stout.

Pours an opaque black color with a full and creamy brown head. Head diminished, but it retained a fine layer and some sticky lace. Aroma is light: malt, roasted grains and a hop background. Flavor has a sweet start and a hop finish. Roasted flavors come out later: interesting and subtle, not a complex taste, but interesting. Mouthfeel was lighter than expected: light to medium bodied with some effervescence and a dry finish. IMHO: A much better balanced stout than I expected. Not an over-the-top-hop experience.

Oily black pour, small coffee colored head. Good malty aroma with appropriate coffee-ish, chocolatey and roasty nuances. Oily medium body, low carbonation level. Well developped roasty character, good expressive flavors and not as sweet as I expected fortunately. Good take on the style and my favorite from Anderson Valley for now.
