Muddy brown body below an average tan head. Nice vanilla, chocolate, mocha and malt aroma. Good hop balance, with a bit of hop aftertaste. Another qulity brew from a California Micro Staple.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with a thin brown head. Not much aroma, I could smell just enough not to know what it smelt like ( it may have been too cold ). It did have a very nice thick and creamy palate with flavors of chocolate, coffee, and malt.
A very good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pitch black with a thick tan, fast fading head. AAThin lace. Aroma of coffee, cola, dark chocolate, and light roasted barley. Flavour is fairly straightforward, some coffee, a bit of herbal mintiness and an intense roasty finish. Nice body and shows a touch of acidity on the finish. Well-crafted.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a dark black with a smaller brown head. Aromas of mocha chocolate with hints of coffee. Some oatmeal comes through in the tastes. Lightly bitter. Overall a decent Oatmeal Stout.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Yummy. Black with a tan head. Wonderful mocha coffee aroma. Big chocolate and coffee flavors, plus pie crust and toast flaovrs. Merest hint of bitterness. Take the $16.00 you would have spent on the SA Chocolate Bock and buy 4 of these. Youíll be better off.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark with dissipating tan head. Bitter coffee aroma. Nice creamy carbonation, but lacks the viscosity/oiliness that I love in an OS. Good fresh roasty flavors, though. A little disappointing, I guess.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
NIce very dark brown short lived head. Almost black in color. Nice aromas of coffee, earthiness, and chocolate. The carbonation in this beer is done well. Nice smooth, almost silky mouthfeel. Nice flavors as well. Flavors of coffee, soil like earthiness, oatmeal of course, and the perfect touch of hoppiness. I really like this oatmeal stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with thin head. Flavor is roasted coffee with some chocolate. Finishes slightly bitter. Mouthfeel was almost like soda-pop, fizzy. Not a bad thing, just something I usually donít notice in beers.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Iíve seen the Anderson Valley Beers sitting around for a long time, and finally am starting to try them. Pours with the look of an Imperial Stout. Aroma is sweet, oatmeal, espresso, blackberries. Nice oatmeal stout, oatmeal is very present, slightly dry, somewhat thin, some espresso, and black coffee finish the beer, this would be good for a session.
