2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2012 Can.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is black (not opaque, flashlight tested).
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (roasted grain, rancid nuts), with notes of plaster/sheetrock.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean, husky.
Medium body, creamy/velvety texture, lively carbonation.
Blech. Man, these canned AV brews have sucked pretty hard, and this one is just the same. Nasty stale aroma and a dirty aftertaste. Complete and utter garbage.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12OZ bottle: The slight head doesn’t last for long. The taste is fairly one-sided, not that the hops or malt dominate, but everything is ’thin’. I want to try this again.

Enjoyable stout, doesn’t come up to Old Rasputin, but few do.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep dark color. Brownish hued head, not creamy, more of a ’carbonation’ look. Tasting notes of coffee, syrup a bit of dark chocolate. Medium mouthfeel. I thought the flavors could be a bit more pronounced - still a solid beer, just looking for a bit more forward flavors.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black body with a very thich chocolate head. Deep to medium, rich roasted barley give way to a sweet, sharp, flavorful body that could use a little more carbonation.

I have always like the hopping in this one. It lack some of the roasted barley flavors and some thickness. Very smooth as you should expect from an oatmeal stout. Finish is fairly sweet. A very mouthcoating brew.

Very sour, hoppy. What the hell were these brewers thinking?

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
thick body. slightly roasted malt taste. medium hop bite, touch of raisins vinous tastes at the finish. Not as much oat flavor as I would expect. Closer to a light cream stout.

1.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Higher rating than what I thought I’d give it. Not only could I feel the lumps of oatmeal in this, but I swear it made me halucinate so bad the Quaker Fuckin’ Oats guy just flew across the room.
