| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Very dark walnut brown, surprisingly lively bubbly head that requires three installments in the pour to avoid spillage. Mouthfeel is smooth and slightly creamy despite such an effervescent intro. Aroma is of rich roast with elements of chocolate and coffee, and a hint of smoke. The palate has no smoke at all, with a sweet roasted character and soundly bitter finish. Very nice. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 12, 2008 I had this pegged for a sweet stout. I could taste the sweet chocolate and hints of oatmeal. Very nice flavor and excellent palate. This is a smooth drinking, light stout. I don’t usually dig the thinner stouts, but this one was great. NoiZe (1290), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

Black with lasting tan ring (not sure about my glasses right now). Nice tangy oatmeal and chocolate aroma. Roasted chocolate and tangy dark fruit with medium bitterness lingering. Medium body and medium carbo. Could use a little less carbo. Stlll, very tasty. Better than I remembered.
