douglas88 (1559), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Oct 13, 2007 Bottle. Pours a wonderful black with a thick beige head. A creamy rich body; with coffee, roasted malt, and an oats taste. Some light hops present also. I really like this brew, it’s smooth and easygoing, but has a lot to offer. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Oct 2, 2007 The color was dark chocolate/black. The head was thick, creamy, and light beige. The aroma was coffe malt, roast, and some hops. The flavor was smoked, roasty, and coffee malt. The palate was nicely carbonated and the finish, roasty and somewhat hoppy. jwdevalue (158), Neptune, New Jersey, USA Sep 29, 2007 This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again. brettpace (179), Northridge, California, USA Sep 23, 2007 This was an ok stout, a little to sweet for me. A lot of rasoted coffee flavors, some chocolate back there but not much. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 18, 2007 Fully black with a mildly lasting tan skin. Aroma first of chlorine, then rich milk chocolate. Raspberry jam on grahams. Vanilla with some plum presence underneath. Distant roast and chocolate chip cookies. Clean, sweet taste of bland coffee - cream, sugar - with a touch of tannin. Sharp and smoky, with some astringency of pine resin and soap. A soft touch of grape seed extract, and something stingingly clean like fabric softener. Creamy and tired texture. Meekly bitter finish. Definitively uninteresting; decent. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 18, 2007 Bomber. Dark, dark, dark with a nice mocha head that has some good lacing. Aromas of toasted oats, fruits, smoke and chalk. Taste is smokey oats mixed with some roasted malts and cigar tobacco. Light flavors of dark fruits on the finish. Easy to drink. Schultsc (478), Henderson, Nevada, USA Sep 17, 2007 On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Opaque jet black with a thin, fine, medium-tan head. Sweet, dark roasted malt aroma with pronounced fruitiness over a perceived oatmeal toastiness. Sweet and malty with "burnt" grain, toffee, fruit and raisin flavors. Body is surprisingly thin and light for the style which leaves a somewhat unsatisfying finish. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 17, 2007 Bottle. Dark body with thin head. aroma is of rich chocolate, sweet oatmeal. Flavor is smooth, rich and creamy. The oatmeal is done right, balanced well. Lightly bitter chocolate taste.
