| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Nose is very roasty, big roasted malt character. There’s a pleasant soy sauce armoa too, seriously.
Big deep chocolatey espresso like malt, dry cocoa powder finish. Hop bitterness rounds out the flavor at the end, but the roasted malt & chocolate are center stage.
Very drinkable. tekhna (102), California, USA

Fits all the attributes of the style, doesn’t excel in any of them except maybe mouthfeel. Decent roast flavor, perhaps a bit sweet on the front, but not terrible. Any more and it would have put me off. plovmand (1603), Helsinge, Denmark
