COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a deep brown almost black color forming a big and bubbled tan head. Good retention and only few lacings left in the glass S: Strong smell of roasted malts. Strong notes of dark chocolate, chocolate malts, coffee. Quite biscuity. Earthy yeasts and some flowery hops T: Strong on roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee. In overall, a dry taste. Biscuity too. Earthy notes. Good bitterness which is more related with the roasted malts than with hops. Quite balanced and plasant, anyway M: Medium and creamy body. Medium carbonation. Roasted malts aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Great American Stout [ BA Review @ 5/19/2013 ]

The deep dark hue and rich tan head are impressive, and somewhere behind the mocha aroma I was surprised by an earthy roasted aroma of yeast and malt - almost a hint of Vegemite (for the Aussies out there). Its just sweet enough to carry the hint of hop bitterness perfectly. The full think body doesn’t disappoint either.

Sweet and thick, with a nice burnt-chocolate flavor. Strong alcohol aroma - just like an Imperial Stout (my wife could smell it on my breath from across the room). But damn it was good. Warm and soothing, a nice after-dinner beverage.

Appearance is black and pretty much completely opaque. A beige head which disappears quickly. Aroma- chocolate fudge, dark malts, coffee, liquorice sweetness. Taste- some hop bitterness, big roastiness, chocolate and toffee, some sweetness in the finish. Mouthfeel quite full for the percentage. Good.

bottle from Utah Liquor store Park city. Pours dark, dark brown with a thin head. very malty on the tongue with a bit of smooth softness from the oatmeal. a bit of malt on the nose. A bit of chocolate lingers on the finish. Solid but it’s not knocking me out.

Perdi a conta. Acho que foi a nona ou a décima cerveja da noite... Lembranças muito confusas neste momento... Enfim... Creme castanho, denso e bem formado. Líquido negro intenso, turvo. Aroma forte de café. Apesar de seca, muito café e caramelo. Boa acidez.
