COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Milk chocolate aromas, chocolate pudding, slight dried cherry. Brown-black, off-white head is mostly fading. Somewhat sweet, chocolatey, raisiny. Medium-full bodied, smooth, creamy.

Pouring this deep brown turns out as oily black in glass, short frothy and thin brown head. I like the color. Sweet and malty with syrup, salty licorice, bit medicinal herbs, dark berries, inviting and delicious aroma. Oily, soft, round, carbonation balances, medium body, long medium roasted malty finish, semidry. Nuanced, soft, thick with flavor but body and carbonation keep this from getting too heavy. As it is this is surprisingly easy to drink. Enjoyed. As this warms it gives lots more mocca and chocolate, lively..just gets better as I sip this.

650ml bottle from LCBO, Shops at Don Mills. 5.3% alc./vol. Pours an opaque dark brown colour with 2 finger of lasting tanned head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee Light body with moderate carbonation. Taste matches the aroma with a pleasently dry finish. Beautiful lacing clinging to the side of the glass.

Goooood stout.. Kunne tenkt meg til litt mer tykkelse. Tror kanskje den inneholder litt lite havre, derav den tynne viskositeten. Litt lite holdbart skum også.. Kunne godt tenkt meg til fyldigere og mer holdbart skum.

Look: pours dark black. Light brown sugar head. Ruby read in the edges. Smell: chocolate. Smoked malts. Vanilla. Taste: roasted malt. Chocolate. Vanilla. Feel: slightly thin for a stout. Rather sweet. Overall: ok beer. Looking for more body and heavier flavors. First drank: home 2/18/15 Vintage:

Really nice.’pours black with nice frothy tan head and lots of lacing. Nose is coffee and some nuttyness. Flavours are roasted nuts, coffee, some almost marshmallow and some dark fruit. Taste medium sweet med/light bitter. Creamy body with medium carbonation. Great effort.

The cup of coffee goes on! Impressive flavour of roasted coffee beans, brown sugars and pure black chocolate that gives a descent bitterness. On the other hand there’s a thin body and a short disapointing finish. The balance of the whole is missing. This is maybe how Americans would interprete an Irish Stout. Well, don’t interprete anymore - invent your own. Other US brewers have shown that there can be some stunning results!
