With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Fuerte aroma a tostado y caramelo. Color café muy oscuro. Agradable al paladar suave y con cuerpo. Sabor muy tostado como tomar café. Final seco. Buen ejemplo de una stout avena. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can, consumed on 9-4-14. Malty, tinny, tarry aroma features a plum scent. Subtle and refreshing smell. Pours an opaque, dark brown with a large amount of dark beige head. Very nice, even head with a creamy consistency. Produces some lacing. Simple but enjoyable taste emphasizes the roasted malts and features a dark chocolate flavor. Dry, roasted aftertaste. Light body. Easy to drink. Oaty softness and some liveliness in the palate. Nice softness, but too aqueous to stand out. Overall, likable enough but simple.

Poured from a can. Dark with a thick head. Very smooth. Finishes nicely. Leaves a sweet, almost flowery taste on the palate.

One of the few oatmeal stouts where you can really taste oatmeal mixed with mild coffee and chocolate flavors. Very good.

Bottle. Thick and black. First tast a little disappointing but it grew on me: Well balanced stout Complex but easy to drink. Strong and smooth at the same Tim Light, fresh and dry. Finish bitter, medium long

This is an excellent stout. The flavor starts far more mellow than most stouts Iíve had. This smoothness gives way to a smoky, roasted grain bitterness that you would expect in a good stout. Where some stouts can be heavy-handed, syrupy thick, and a bit much to drink, Barney Flats isnít. Itís got a solid but not syrupy mouthfeel. The flavor has elements of chocolate, coffee, and malt with a properly-balanced hops bitterness. One of the best stouts on the market as far as Iím concerned.

Can. Pours a very dark brown-black with barely visible garnet highlights and a high, very tight, fine-grained light brown head. Nose is red wine, dried fruit, black tea, and baking chocolate. Rich and fruity up front on the tongue, then with a dark chocolate/coffee/raisin note kicking in on the mid-palate; a minty herbal note is also present, and the dryness increases all the way through. Finish is long, dry, herbal/piney, and smoky. Extremely good.

Bottle @ home from Saveur-Biere.com - Color: opaque black beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: malty nose and sugar notes with black bread presence. Taste: nice malty taste with brown sugar notes. Aftertaste: nice bitterness and good equilibrium of malt. Really tasteful great beer.

Completely dark body, minimal tan head. Chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Long coffee finish. Kind of watery. Thin body, soft carbonation. Very good!

Bottle from Bertís Bierhuis Utrecht. Black pour with nice creamy off-white foam. Aroma is really vanilla forward, sweet dark malts, light licorice, herbal notes, oatmeal, very light roast. Taste is wicked smooth, nice sweet molasses touch, lots of vanilla on the finish, very low bitterness. Palate is smooth and creamy, easy drinking (med bodied).
