Apr 9, 2007 completely opaque black appearance with thick rocky tan head. oatmeal and chocolate chip aroma with some hops and buttermilk. flavor is thin with chocolate chips, hints of coffee, toffee, and carmel and lactic acid. very thin and boring mouthfeel.

Mar 31, 2007 Murky black with reddish hints. Smells like oats and a little piney. Deep roasted oats taste, a little coffee, nice bitter finish.

Mar 24, 2007 (Bottle) Pours dark to black. Roasted aroma with dark bread, black berries, liquorice and coffee. Just a touch of vanilla and hops. Roasted, liquorice flavour with a burned ending. Notes of coffee and dark bread. Pretty round mouthfeel. Light sweet and light bitter. Medium body.

Mar 16, 2007 Updated: Dec 7, 2007This could possibly be a spoiled six pack because the flavor is pretty tame even for an oatmeal stout. Either way, its quite good; black in color and with nice sweet robusty grain flavors. I’d buy it again.
Now unspoiled(12/07/07)---- This is a very good effort. Solid worth a new boosted score above (previous flawed bottle was rated 3.5)

Mar 13, 2007 This looks like liquid chocolate with a frothy mocha colored head. Smells of chocolate and raspberry. The flavor is a bit thin and yeasty, but it has a nice espresso flavor to it. Silky smooth mouthfeel. This is well-rounded, but I’ve had better stouts.

Mar 12, 2007 Bottles. Appearance is dark mocha brown with dark tan head. Moderate lacing evidient. Deelish Count Chocula & hops aroma. Flavor is sweet cooking chocolate, oats, malted milk balls and little twinges of roast coffee. Flavors become more bold as they warm. Aftertaste is wonderfully sharp bitter powdered chocolate. I would happily drink this sweet stout again!
