With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

bottle at home, Black beer with a small head, aroma is liquorice, hint of cardboard, dark fruit, Taste is watery, light bitter, fruity,... not bad, but could be better, maybe a bit too old?

Transfer from BA review on 8-31-12- Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance –Served a deep brown nearly black beer with a one finger tan head. The head faded over time to give a good level of lacing. Smell – The aroma overall, was rather light but pleasant. It was a mix of some roasted malt as well as a light bit of chocolate and dark fruit sweetness. Taste – The taste began of a more dry roasted malt flavor with a chocolate and roasted coffee flavor greeting the tongue. These flavors are quickly meet by some caramel sweetness and a bit of dark fruit. As the taste advances further, it sweetens even more with some flavors of vanilla and cream coming in at the end. Overall it leaves a very satisfyingly sweet yet roasty flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the lighter side for an oatmeal stout of its strength with a carbonation level that is slightly higher then normal. Overall – Other than the weakness in the feel of the brew it was very good. It had a wonderful taste profile and a great appearance. Easy to drink and very tasty.

I chose this juicy beer to combine my celebration for the entrance in my new house, in Amsterdam. As I refered it is enough juicy or floral. Maube a special coffe in its taste. A bit caramel too.

Dark brown/black with a burnt brown head. Looks like it will be heavy. Somewhat muted aroma of chocolate, oatmeal and hazelnut. Tastes a little watery - dull flavours; malt and a little soapy. Way thinner than I’d have liked - expected carbonation for style and doesn’t coat mouth much. Pretty average.

Fast komplett schwarzes Bier.

355ml can. Black with tan head. Aroma has roasted malt, coffee. Flavour is similar with chocolate and light bitterness. Good, roasted finish, tiny hint of smoke.

Rating #1040 - March 27, 2014 - @avbc tap takeover @revolutionYEG. Maybe found this underwhelming a tinge as Ive had the wild turkey stout many many times before. Beautiful dark brown pour with a fairly weak tan head with mild lacing. Aroma is a hint of dark chocolate, toasted malt, burnt sugar Warmth of the alcohol present but balanced by the sharp bitterness of the stout. Hop presence is excellent. Love the delicate earthiness.
