Look: pours dark black. Light brown sugar head. Ruby read in the edges.
Smell: chocolate. Smoked malts. Vanilla.
Taste: roasted malt. Chocolate. Vanilla.
Feel: slightly thin for a stout. Rather sweet.
Overall: ok beer. Looking for more body and heavier flavors.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Really nice.’pours black with nice frothy tan head and lots of lacing. Nose is coffee and some nuttyness. Flavours are roasted nuts, coffee, some almost marshmallow and some dark fruit. Taste medium sweet med/light bitter. Creamy body with medium carbonation. Great effort.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The cup of coffee goes on! Impressive flavour of roasted coffee beans, brown sugars and pure black chocolate that gives a descent bitterness. On the other hand there’s a thin body and a short disapointing finish. The balance of the whole is missing.
This is maybe how Americans would interprete an Irish Stout. Well, don’t interprete anymore - invent your own. Other US brewers have shown that there can be some stunning results!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. 5.7%. Best before 20.02.15. Pours black with a dark tan head. Decent lacing. A bit tart, sweetish dark fruit aroma. Roasted note as it warms. Hints of liquorice in the vicinity of the glass. Becomes smoother as it warms. Flavour is the same, with a touch of berries as well as hints of chocolate and vanilla. Dry finish with more tart dark fruit and roasted notes and a mild alcohol burn. Light coffee note as it warms. Palate has a somewhat metallic overtone to it. Overall an okay beer, if a bit heavy on the fruity side. 11.02.15.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours black with beige, brownish, long-lasting medium head. Very nice, massive lacing on the glass and good retention. Pleasant appearance. Gentle aroma of coffee, milk, toffee, brown sugar, sweet chocolate. Taste is medium sweet and bitter, actually a mixture of those two. Beautiful silky-smooth mouth feel. Very well balanced, subtle and delicious oatmeal stout.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle picked up at the LCBO. Pours a midnight colour, with about a finger of off tan head, that is lace clingy on the glass walls. Nose is sweet roasty malt, cereal like, definitely oath. Tastes like cold wort. Bitter, roasted malt. A touch chalky. Not as sweet as I would’ve hoped for.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Muy completa, con textura cremosa de avena, sabor largo, con muchos matices de moka, fruta negra en mermelada y ciruela pasa, y un golpe sutil de lupulo que pone el acento americano.

Blind sampel @ Systembolaget tasting. Dark brown to black going a little towards deep burgundy red, mocha brown head. Velvety smooth aroma of raisins and chocolate. Roasted bitter taste with coffee bitterness and maybe some licorice. Nice smooth mouthfeel, lasting bitterness.

Black black with light brown head. Roasty malt nose. Smooth creamy roasty and burnt ( not overly done). A super nice stout, full flavor, well balanced.
