Not very aromatic, but decent roasted malt flavor on the front end. Not a real malty sweet balance for an oatmeal, but a decent stout. hophead75 (1952), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

Near black with some ruby highlights at the bottom of the glass. chocolate and caramel inthe aroma. Taste is chocolate and caramel, smooth but somewhat thin body for the style, with a roasty lightly bitter and astrigent finish. Hollywoodt (174), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 23, 2006 Poured a dark brown with minimal tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, with a hint of caramel and coffee. The taste was mostly the malt, with some bitter at the end. Too bad... the aroma had me convinced this was going to be fantastic. It was OK, but nothing special. glkaiser (1163), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours black with little tan head. I taste the malt with a middle of coffee and finishes with a sweet taste. Not a bad beer to have on a cold winter night. TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA
