| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Tap. Black pour with a small, loose, tan head. Subtle milk chocolate aroma with sweet coffee and cream notes and a hint of vanilla. The flavor is a little aqueous upfront with some strong, roasted oats and a cappucino like finish. The body is a touch thin but creamy with low carbonation. yalnikim (779), Wellington, New Zealand

Really nice rich dark ale that is so balanced and clean that it actually borders on Schwarzbier, or even a Dunkel. SorenE (111), , New Zealand

Saw this on tap at my local homebrew supply shop...and wow! What a find. Dark, coffee aroma with a similar complexion. Mocha brown head quickly dissipates. Flavor of cinnamon, caramel, and light coffee, this is a great tasting stout. Similar to other oatmeal stouts with a burned grain sort of aftertaste. Thick, but not cloying. Complex, but very drinkable. A wise choice. thejon375 (392), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Bomber. Pours clear dark brown with a medium sized tan head. Aroma has lush dark chocolate, cream, oats, and dark malt. Not too much hop presence on the nose. Flavor follows suit, a medium-full blend of chocolates, caramel malt, oats, and a touch of toastiness. Palate is a bit thin in my opinion, but still manages to hold the flavors present. Finish is medium in length, with prickly carbonation.
