Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout

Pours very dark, big white creamy head. Sweet aroma, Full Flavor, and full body. Very creamy and very easy to drink. Taste of chocolate and slight coffee taste. As it warmed it was a tad bitter but not overpowering. I can’t believe I passed this up 4 times at the bottleshop before I bought it.

The best oatmeal stout I’ve had yet. I was left wanting more. Full body, full flavor, with hints of chocolate. So dark that people thought I was drinking cola. Probably the best beer that I’ve had yet.

Inviting appearance — dark body, thick tan head. Big malt aroma — roast, chocolate, syrup. Flavor tips toward the sweet side — chocolate with notes of caramel and toast. Medium to heavy body, but certainly not syrupy. Very easy sipping. Slight bitter aftertaste to balance the sweet malts.

Pours out a nice dark brown color with a large fading head. The aroma is sweet and roasty. Taste is very nice with a decent balance and a sweet and somewhat hoppy finish

Dry, musty, creosote stout aroma. Cool cap, cool label - very west-coast micro. A hearty but balanced flavor - moderate sweetness, hazelnut, roast, chocolate in a very drinkable blend. Lingering coffee bitterness with creamy cocoa. Moderately viscous mouthfeel. Quite good - certainly deserving of its high ranking. Picked this one up in Phoenix.

Pours dark, short lived head. Strong flavor, not as sweet as some others in this category, but very flavorful. A solid beer, but not as good as I would have hoped for the 9.99 I paid for a six pack.

Very roasty and chocolate/coffee. Tasted strong for a oatmeal stout, so the 5.7% is not surprising. A very hearty drink. Full-bodied and impressive.
