May 25, 2009 Near black, thin cream head. Intense aroma of toasted malt, espresso, chocolate, cinnamon, spicy hop and licorice. Tastes of mocha, maple, caramel are balanced with spicy hop. Smooth finish with a bit of an espresso linger.

May 25, 2009 The aroma is acidic and sour with molasses, vinegar, toasted malt, oatmeal, and chocolate. The appearance is dark brown with a tan head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin for the style. I have to say that I can’t stand the sourness of this beer and there isn’t much else about this beer that I like.

Clear dark black color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, burnt, cofee, dark berry sour. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light berry acidic - sour and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081207]

May 12, 2009 bottle @ redlight redlight. Rich chocolate and vanilla on the nose, malty with hints of smoke and roasted malts. Pours black/dark brown with a thin tan head. Smooth chocolate and vanilla, sweet malts, rich and smooth palate, toasty, nutty, caramelly in the flavor. Very smooth and silky mouthfeel! Solid stout!

Aroma of oats (probably the most oats I’ve ever gotten from an oatmeal stout, but not sure if that’s a comment about me or the beer), strong roasted notes, sweet chocolate, creamy coffee mild sweet caramel. Flavor has solid roast, lots of milky chocolate, more sweet oats and coffee. Medium-bodied, some watery notes. Still pretty good stuff.

Apr 22, 2009 on tap, this is one of my very favorite stouts. i also enjoy the oatmeal in my home brew. the thick-creamy texture that the oats give, for me, just cant be beat. the chocolate is not overdone in this brew ,as is so common in most stouts, for my taste.

Apr 18, 2009 Dark black pour with a tan head.It has a nice taste-you can taste the roasted malt, oats and sweetness. Had a nice smooth mothfeel and worth getting again.
