Solid but not overly impressive oatmeal stout from this O.G. Cali bunch. Nice inky pour, though the body looks as if it’s not quite as silky or robust as the best examples of this style usually are. Nice nose of soft chocolate and dry roasts. A bit thin indeed, as it turns out. Flavors are pretty nice, with moderate hops and some rolled oats coming together well with the chocolate notes. Again: solid.

Bottle 335ml @ home.
Whoa, it’s one of my fav beer styles. Full appretiation on the warmer side only! Don’t drink it when it’s cold!!!
App: pitch black/very dark brown with very nice, beige, small bubbled & low reducing but lasting head. Aroma: upftont typical english yeast, all of dark malts, hint of plumes or other dark fruits, maybe alc too. Mf&taste: mild carbonation, very solid sweetish-malty backbone, followed by roasty, coffie&bitter sweet chocolate. Silky, smooth aftertaste with hop bitterness and slight warming - without excessive sensation. Alcohol very well hidden :) Overall: excellent o/m stout! Could be even session beer, but beware of almost 6% abv :)

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Claves77 (76) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Well balanced color, medium foam, strong dark color. Roast malt smell strong through nose. Even tastes of oatmeal, comes through as beer warms up. Ok flavor, I prefer it cold. Overall good.

08-MAY-2013, can @home, from systembolaget, brought home by Marianne, thx:-)
Black with creamy off-white head.
Aroma is chocolate and vanilla.
Taste is slightly roasted with again chocolate and vanilla and a touch of spice.
Very smooth and creamy body and soft carbonation. Perhaps the best part of this. Really easy drinking. I like this, and would rebuy if I lived nearby.
4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Aluman (10) - Grants, New Mexico, USA - MAY 7, 2013
This quite probably the best Oatmeal Stout in america, and a contender for best over all. Pleasant mix of fresh oats and roasted chocolate combine for a very pleasing smell. A decent head with excellent lacing in a 16oz pint glass.
The taste is thick and savory, nutty sweetness blends in well to form an almost perfect combination, there is a hop presence but its mild enough the bitterness doesn’t interfere.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20 DavidWoodruff (235) - Windsor, California, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate.
Appearance: Brown/black with reddish highlights and a brown head.
Flavor: Mocha, caramel and dark malts - just enough hop bitterness to keep it balanced.
Palate: Medium to full bodied with a smooth, oily texture and moderate carbonation.
Overall: Very nice oatmeal stout if not the most exciting.
