With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a very dark ruby color. There’s a nice two finger head with a khaki shade that caps the body off nicely. Retention is good, texture is great, and plenty of lacing is left behind. This one looks damn good. S: This is what I’d want a solid oatmeal stout to smell like: decent chocolate notes, plenty of roast, and oatmeal to tie everything together. No twists or turns, just a really good aroma. T: It starts with a bit of cola flavor. The finish, though, is excellent: it’s chocolaty, roasty, and bitter in all the right ways. While simplistic, it really makes good use of what it has to deliver an enjoyable experience. M: Yes, this is rather thin in body. The rich flavor means this is still a good one to savor. But man...if it had a full body, that would really take it over the top. I still enjoy how creamy it is in the mouth, and there’s only enough carbonation to help it go down well. O: Oh yeah, now this is the stuff. It’s not perfect, but it’s damn enjoyable - it would be in the 4+ range if it weren’t so thin or overly cola-flavored. I would definitely buy this again.

Väga mõnus kerge stout, lõhnas tunda leiva ja õrnalt pähkli lõhna. Maitses tunda leiba ja marja maitset( ei suuda tuvastada).

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 16B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: nice dark chocolate aroma with hints of licorice and faint coffee and walnut. no esters nor hops discernible. APPEARANCE: dark brown color and opaque. below average brown head with low retention. TASTE: predominant roasted malt flavour with burnt coffee notes. low hop bitterness with an almost dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body without much texture. medium carbonation. OVERALL: an oatmeal stout that promises on the aroma but cant deliver on the taste and palate.

Piwo czarne. Piana beżowa drobno i średnio pęcherzykowa, dość trwała redukuje się do obrączki, dość słabo oblepia szkło. W aromacie paloność, kawowość, brązowy cukier. W smaku czekolada, paloność i płatki owsiane. Bardzo przyjemne odczucie, nisko wysycone, dobrze zbalansowane, subtelne, zdecydowanie nie wodniste, pijalne.

Negra, espuma ocre minima. Aroma claro a chocolate. Cuerpo ligero y textura super cremosa. Extraordinariamente suave debido a la avena. Baja carbonatacion. Ligeramente frutal (ciruela) y claro predominio de chocolate. Una muy buena stout sin duda, aunque a mi se me hace un poco cansina.

It’s ok. Not a lot of what I want in my stouts but also not bad. Gives someone I know serious gas. Lol. Bottle
