COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Pours black with thin head. Flavor is roasted coffee with some chocolate. Finishes slightly bitter. Mouthfeel was almost like soda-pop, fizzy. Not a bad thing, just something I usually don’t notice in beers.

Very fruity taste. I picked up raisins and a slight roasted flavor. Also a little bit of licorice. Some coffee flavor in the finish. This is good stuff. Very Complex.

On draft at Thirsty Monk South. Beautiful dark pour with dark roast and cocoa aromas. Nice coffee and dark chocolate flavors. Great beer

Pours pitch black with small beige head. Aromas of roasted malt and coffee. Taste is lots of roastyness, bitter, some milk chocolate. Medium body, creamy. Decent.

This was really perfect looking.Nice foamy, lasting head.Black color.Very appetizing. The aroma was of roasted coffee, and a tad of skunk. The palate was about average. The flavor was of roasted coffee,a hint of chocolate, hint of skunk, nuts, maybe some cherries.Had pretty good body.Finished bitter and sour, but not too much.I would have liked more stickyness to the palate, and more chocolate in the flavor. Also, maybe a fresher bottle,as it had a slight taste of skunk, which somewhat ruined this for me.I gave this a higher rating because it had complex flavors.Would buy again, but try to get a fresher bottle.

On tap, maybe i got the wrong beer? To me, tasted like a milk stout and a poor one at that. Was bland, like a half-decent stout mixed with skim milk...or guinness with non-dairy creamer. Guess I’ll have to revisit someday.

Chocolate pour, low head and lace. Smokey chocolate aroma. Salty savory flavor, smoke, soy sauce and bacon. Buttery with a sweet biscuity finish. Big roasted malt, a little thin. Wood smoke and vinegary. Good, nice surprise.

Bottle. Beautiful clear black, brown color, with a fast diminishing brown head. Bready, coco, phenolic smell, very promising. Dry taste, with well balanced sourness/bitterness. More thin texture with a flat carbonation, typical. Aftertaste has some toasty, malty, bready notes, but also something fresh and fruity. This is a great oatmeal stout, love it from the first sip!

Very dark pour, aroma is all coffee and malts. A lot of coffee in the flavor as well, hoppier than it needs to be. Not the best stout out there.
