COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Big stout. Chocolaty, creamy, smooth on the palate. Very satisfying. Smells like coffee, semisweet chocolate, and roasted malts. Nice flavor.

12oz Bottle. Pours very black with a small dark tan head. Aroma roasty chocolate milk and coffee mix, also an earthy oatmeal hint. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate chips, and a sweet start then a bitter very full finish. Mouth feel is creamy, heavy, very full, and swallow heavy also. Very Good.

22 oz bottle purchased at BevMo. Poured a jet black colr with a thick tan head. Nice roasty, coffee and chocolate aroma. Dense, roasted flavor with coffee and chocolate bitterness. Just a little hops presence at the end. No sweetness to speak of in the taste, which isn’t a bad thing. Silky mouthfeel. Really enjoyed drinking this one.

Dark brew with mahogany highlights that pours with a decent tan head. The head slowly fades to leave a ring around the top of the beer with a nice trailing lace on the glass sides. The aroma is one of roasted coffee and sweetness, with a slight hint of alcohol. The mouthfeel is light for a stout, but very smooth. The flavors are very good in this beer. Coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, a little fruitness, and a hint of nuttiness make this a really complex beer that is topped off with a good dose of hops. I believe the hops help create the relatively clean finish. The flavor develops very well as the beer warms. This is a very good beer that could be great, but it lacks the "chewy" mouthfeel that many good stouts present.

Bottle. Dark, dark brown color, brown/beige head that dissipates pretty quickly. Some cocoa, coffee, nice spicy dry bite at the finish. Another great Anderson Valley beer!

Toasty aromas with some notes of coffee. A rather carbonated mouthfeel, oatmeal and bread flavors that are surprisingly muted. Ok but a bit lacking in fullness in flavors.

Bottles. Appearance is dark mocha brown with dark tan head. Moderate lacing evidient. Deelish Count Chocula & hops aroma. Flavor is sweet cooking chocolate, oats, malted milk balls and little twinges of roast coffee. Flavors become more bold as they warm. Aftertaste is wonderfully sharp bitter powdered chocolate. I would happily drink this sweet stout again!

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a nice light brown head. Always a fan of a good oatmeal stout and this one does not disappoint. Sweet aroma of chocolate and caramel and what else.. oatmeal. Light sweet taste goes down real smooth and leaves you with a feeling of wanting more. A great oatmeal stout.
