3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
on tap at bittercreek. pours black with no retaining head; foamy lacing. light aroma of roasted malt, light grain and cocoa. the oatmeal comes out quite a bit and adds to the body. dark chocolate and roasted malt make up the finish. medium bodied with a fuzzy mouthfeel and a medium level of carbonation. the oats dont add enough smoothness for my liking of the style. pretty tasty though.

Pours black with 1/2" tan/brown head. Aroma is of fruit and chocolate. Taste is of chocolate, coffee, oats and some currant/cherries . Nice velvety mouthfeel. Slightly bitter finish. This is a well made oatmeal stout.

Higher rating than what I thought I’d give it. Not only could I feel the lumps of oatmeal in this, but I swear it made me halucinate so bad the Quaker Fuckin’ Oats guy just flew across the room.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark brown, with a thick brown head. Aroma is malty with coffee and chocolate, and flavor was nice. It finished very chocolatey, but not too bad. I enjoyed this.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a beautiful oatmeal stout in every way. I am a fan of the style and a fan of this beer! Thanks froggyfrog for sharing this one.
Appearance: This beer looked black to me with a light chocolate brown head.
Smell: Dark roasty malts, espresso and a hint of chocolate.
Taste: This is what beer is all about. When it enters your mouth and time seems to go in slow motion, like the caramel topping on a commercial takes forever to drip down around the ice-cream, the slow-motion effect happens when a beer is both rich in body and flavor. The burnt caramel, espresso, dark malt, oat flavor drizzled over my tongue in slow motion. This is the sensation that heaven will be like =) This beer is so well balanced with just the perfect hoppy finish I don’t have words to describe.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is velvety silky smooth. The texture is what the chocolate looks like when you go on the ride through Hershey’s Chocolate World.
Drinkability: Fat Dog step aside. I’m placing my order for Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout.
Hope this is helpful.

This is probally my favorite oatmeal stout. It pours black with a light tan head. It has a nice roasted finish and sweet and creamy up front. Good beer, I’ve tried a couple of Anderson Valley beers and they all have been pretty good.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark brwon with a little tan head and some thing lacing. Smells of malts, sweet, chocolate and a roasted smell as well. Suprisingly a bit bitter at first for such a sweet smell, then sweet taste takes over and leaves a thick coating of with a long lasting aftertaste that has a bit of a bad end to it.
