Black color, with brownish creamy head. Nice aroma of roasted malts. Smooth mouthfeel, with a good coffee flavor, a bit milky in the end; correct bitterness.
Very good straight Stout.

Can at home, from Systembol, 26/03/14 a little on the lively side and required a bit of mopping up! Black with a big old dirty tan head of bubbleage. Nose is roast malt, chocolate, toffee fudge, liqourice. Taste is roasty, toffee fudge, milk chocolate, light hops, dark berry fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent stout, would happily revist at this price point.

Bottle, 12oz. A clear dark brown body is topped by a small, tan head. The aroma is pretty roasted, with coffee and some dark chocolate. Pretty similar flavor, with a roasted-bitter touch towards the end. I’d like some more hops if I were to choose. It’s soft on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level, medium to full-bodied and neither too sweet nor too dry. Overall, an easy drinking and tasteful beer I wouldn’t shy away from having again. 130405

Botted. Opaque black, small tan head. Toasted coffee beans aroma. Medium to full bodied. Roasted, bitterish, quite typical lower ABV oatmeal stout. Mild toasted and hoppy aftertaste.

A: The pour is almost black with a thin tan colored head. S: The nose is plenty roasted with some notes of coffee, sweet chocolate, and smoke. T: The flavor is very roasty as well with a slight smokiness and lots of coffee. There is some bitter chocolate and a mild bitterness. M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation and a smooth feel on the tongue. D: A solid oatmeal stout with good flavors and aromas that go down easy. Another good Anderson Valley beer.
