Good stout. Pours a deep black with a light brown head. Has a sweet roasted coffee and chocolatey flavor with some hops. The mouthfeel is not that thick and is a tad bit watery on the palate. Does not leave much of a roasted, burnt aftertaste. Overall a solid stout. I would pick this up again.

bottle @ redlight redlight. Rich chocolate and vanilla on the nose, malty with hints of smoke and roasted malts. Pours black/dark brown with a thin tan head. Smooth chocolate and vanilla, sweet malts, rich and smooth palate, toasty, nutty, caramelly in the flavor. Very smooth and silky mouthfeel! Solid stout!

Delicious appearance. It is dark and creamy appearing with a late forming small dark tan head. The aroma is sweet malt and roastiness which is what you would expect out of a stout. Body is middle of the road for the style. Flavor is robust and is sweet malt with some coffee. Didn’t taste any chocolate here. There is some late bitterness and a nice zestiness in the mouth throughout. This was a great drinking beer.

Deep dark brown, tan head. Roasty aroma, slight hop. Roasty light flavorwith some bitterness from the roasted barley, some from hops. Slight tartness. Thought the malt character was slightly watery. Not bad overall.

22 oz bottle. A year old? Dark brown with a boistrous sepia head. No lace. Musty grapes, coffee and crayons. Tangy chocolate with tongue-biting carb. Smooths into orange oatmeal cookies. Crisp and very drinkable. I really like this CA take on a sweet stout.

Pours a dark leathery brown, settles opaque black, medium cocoa brown head fluffs up from a vigorous pour and subsides some to a thin haze and a fluffy sponged collar on top, lace in inkblots. Smell is quite mild and subdued of light chocolatey sweetness with a bit of roastyness and oat tangy sweetening. Taste is very mild with a persistant chocolatey sweetness that sets the overall tone with small notes of oats and roasted malts and faint touches of coffee. Finishes with a bit of drying roastyness and cocoa and a clean milding crispness. Feel is a solid medium body with no real characteristics of sweetness lingering or standing out any where, overall just a smooth somewhat creamy, chocolatey pensive quality. The chocolate tones are very nice; its a fine drinker, quite smooth and easy with a nice chocolateyness. Right up there with Black Widow.
