COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Pitch black opaque color. Smell like a real heavy stout, but it tastes lighter then it smells. Oily texture, low carbo and body but a fine taste.

Lovely soft mouthfeel. Nice gentle roasty aroma. Great smooth roasty taste, just a hint of coffee. Burntness clear, but not astringent at all. Great drinkable porter. Supports my view that the US does the best porters in the world.

Bomber poured a nearly opaque black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of coffee, hint of bakers cocoa and a bit of licorice. Palate was medium bodied and crisp [for a stout]. Flavors of coffee, bakers cocoa and roasted malt with a crisp lingering bittersweet finish.

Keg at Red Lion, Leyton. It pours darkest brown with a medium beige head. The nose is sweet roast, caramel, liquorice, treacle, cola and light vanilla. The taste is roasty, earth, cocoa, ash, cola, sweet liquorice and treacle with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth, but easy drinking.
