Loved it. Nice balance of heary body, beautiful pour. Excellent mouth feel and just enough sweetness to handle the finish.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The beer is deep, dark brown, approaching black. Atop the beer sits a thick head the color of wet sand. Really appetizing. The aroma offers chocolate, bread, roast, malt. Smells nice true to style. Very tasty. Big oatmeal character and everything is well balanced. Oatmeal cookies and chocolate with a mild sweetness. Moderate carbonation and medium bodied. Great feel. I could enjoy a few bottles of this in a sitting. In fact...

Can. Pours black thin brown head. Roasty chocolate aroma, not too strong. Also some floral hop. Medium sweet taste. Full body, creamy but too thick. Slightly above ave carbonation, mild bitter hop finish. Well balanced brew. Solid stout.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pour is dark brown with a small foamy tan head. Flavor and aroma are both of caramel, chocolate, coffee, and bitterness. Finish is heavy on the roast. Very drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
35.5cl bottle @ home. Nearly black color, average brownish head. Moderated aroma of mocha, roasted malt, chocolate and slight tobacco smell. Taste light sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, a bit watery sidetaste, thin feel, average carbonation, light coffeeish finish. Light but good stout. My experience is quite the opposite of the official description.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a very dark ruby color. There’s a nice two finger head with a khaki shade that caps the body off nicely. Retention is good, texture is great, and plenty of lacing is left behind. This one looks damn good.
S: This is what I’d want a solid oatmeal stout to smell like: decent chocolate notes, plenty of roast, and oatmeal to tie everything together. No twists or turns, just a really good aroma.
T: It starts with a bit of cola flavor. The finish, though, is excellent: it’s chocolaty, roasty, and bitter in all the right ways. While simplistic, it really makes good use of what it has to deliver an enjoyable experience.
M: Yes, this is rather thin in body. The rich flavor means this is still a good one to savor. But man...if it had a full body, that would really take it over the top. I still enjoy how creamy it is in the mouth, and there’s only enough carbonation to help it go down well.
O: Oh yeah, now this is the stuff. It’s not perfect, but it’s damn enjoyable - it would be in the 4+ range if it weren’t so thin or overly cola-flavored. I would definitely buy this again.
