COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass. I like the fact it was in a can.. Kind of unique for a stout. Beige/white head, quickly disappearing, super thick and dark body; No chance of transparency. Not much on the aroma side of things. Great taste, not overpowering, but dark malts, that nice "oatmeal" thickness to it. Slightly dark chocolate taste as well. Everything is blended fairly well & not overpowered in one department over another. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.355 l bottle from local Albert Heijn, best before 15/3/2016. Clear, very dark, almost opaque, brownish red to black with a medium large, creamy, quickly diminishing, brown head. Sweetish-malty aroma of raisins, nuts, toffee, milk chocolate and vanilla. Sweetish-malty taste of milk chocolate, nuts, vanilla and some coffee, followed by a short, slightly bitter, roasty finish. Medium to full body, creamy and smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty, rather full-bodied for such a low abv. Not too deep of course but very harmonic and nicely balanced. Like it!

A revoir donc

Dark brown with small yellow head. Malty aroma. Soft roasted malt bitterness with certain sourness.

355mL bottle from Beer Cartel. Deep black body, holds a dense tan head - looks good! Aroma is nutty, roasty, chocolate, touch of coffee & toasted oats. Smoooth texture, reasonably low carbonation, hangs around for a bit. Lovely palate packed full of dark chocolate, sweet coffee, roast nuts and dark caramels & oatmeal. Well balanced finished, bitterness does just enough. Very tasty, very drinkable, couldn’t ask for more.

Bottle, Total Wine. No detailed notes - entering from older tasting. Decently balanced stout, but very thin/watery. Wouldn’t reach for it again.

Dark, deep brown pour with thin tan head. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Coffee, chocolate, subtle hop bitterness, roasted malts. Pretty complex flavor profile for low ABV. I had this years ago before I started rating, so it was nice to revisit.

Bottiglia.
