Commercial Description:
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Been looking forward to this one b/c the guy in MarCellars highly recommended it. Almost black color. Big tan head. Sweet chocolatey aroma. Big chocolate flavor. Very good creamy palate. Great sipping beer. Excellent beer all around. I brought back a bunch of beer from WY and ID but this is the one I most wish I could get regularily. Perfect in my mind. Only my 2nd 5 but this deserves it.

Probably the finest beer brewed in America today. Other posters here have described it. You know it’s rich and malty and full-bodied. If you’re on the West Coast, give it a try.

I have never tasted a better beer, let alone a better stout. Thick clean tasting with a good head. The only possible way to get a better beer (if you like stouts) than this is to go there in person to Booneville, CA and have one from a keg....Bottom Line: If you love stout beer - you will love this. I would also recomend this beer for someone who is just starting to enjoy different kinds of beers. I gave one of these to my girlfriend who is 23 and "doesn’t like beer" and she loved it! BTW anderson valley brewery has won many awards including "top 10 brewerys in the US" and this beer (Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout) has won numerous gold / silver bronze medals world wide against WORLD CLASS stouts. It truly is one of the best stouts in the world. And its my favorite!

Creamy texture, sweet but not too sweet. A lot of flavors: toasted, roasted, nutty, molasses, caramel, chocolate, coffee.

Almost opaque, with a light brown head. Roasted, malty, cereal smell and flavor that both bear sweet hints of chocolate and nut. Smooth and full body with a perfect tad of bitterness. This is as good of an oatmeal stout as I have ever found, and I seek them out.

This creamy aromatic full bodied stout is delicious. Recommend this on a cold wintery day. Suitable for substituting for some warm oatmeal. Great warm finish and oatmeal following. Tops.

Pours dark with medium, creamy head. Has a deep, smooth taste that goes right down. An exceptional stout in bottle and on tap.
