With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Typical dark pour with a neutral colored head. Smell is weak, but more good than bad. A tiny bit of oat and malt, maybe a hint of alcohol - somewhat surprising at 5.7%. Taste definitely has some character - roasted/smoky bite. Outstanding palate to start. Creamy on the way down. A good bit of a carbonation on the follow through.

Thick, dense, beige head over deep dark brown beer. Brown bread with chocolate or chocolate spread; leather, wood. Oatmeal very obvious in the taste. Woodshavings, quite dry, slight sweetness in the background. Not unlike porridge, but feels better carbonated than it looks. Decent.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black from the bottle with a thick tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is really heavy on dark fruits and oats. Taste is not so good. Very oily in the mouth and way too heavy on the oats. So disappointed.

12oz. bottle. Opaque dark brown colour with a thin tan head. Poor retention. Roasted, liquorice, caramel and chocolate in the aroma. Average to soft carbonation and medium body. Taste is medium bitter and light sweet with a long finish with roasted notes. Overall, a good beer but lacks body.

Botella. Negra opaca. Poca espuma. Aroma principalmente a chocolate y algo de caramelo. Recuerda a bombón de licor. En boca es realmente sensacional. Regaliz, chocolate, caramelo, cereal, ... múltiples sabores. Una gozada. Fantástica stout.

Bottle at home #internationalstoutday. Very dark brown, foamy brown head. Roasted malty coffee/mocha and chocolate tones, fruity hops in the background, grainy and earthy malts/oat, lightly bitter. Soft mouthfeel, low carbonation, medium body.

Pours a black colour with a soapy tan coloured head and thick consistency. There is the slight aroma of oats with a mild flavour of roasted malt and slight bitterness, possibly tempered by the oats, that is short lasting on the palate. Overall a pretty good quality stout.

(Bottle). Pours a brown black with Thick tan head. Aroma has dried cherry, cocoa, toast and malt. The flavor is deep roasted malts, dark chocolate and some black coffee. I wish this brewer was more widely distributed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
