12oz bottle. Appearance: Amber red, brilliant clarity, with a frothy, thick off white foam cap that lingers with nice lacing. Aroma: Caramel malt base, with a strong hop aroma of grass, lemon, citrus, and resin. Taste: Rich, strongly toasted bread malt flavor, turning into a firm hop bitterness and flavors of citrus, grass, and resin. Mouthfeel: Medium body and moderate carbonation. Finish: Bitterness dominates the finish, leaving a dry and sticky resin character in the tongue. Bread crust lingers retronasally. Overall: Good AAA. Strong bread crust malt flavor with a strong west coast style hopping.

330ml bottle. Clear dark amber color. Medium size, yellow head, stays. Malty, sweet, bit boozy in aroma. Malty, caramel, sweet taste. Sweet and malty aftertaste. Bit too and sticky. A simple beer. Maybe in some other night I’d be more excited over this simplicity, but not tonight.

Had a can at marges by the lake so did not see appearance but smell and taste was extremely bland and mediocre. Malty notes only.

355ml bottle from Appellation Wines, cheers Ash! Pours clear copper with a thin white head. Aromas of overripe banana, caramel, fudge. Taste is sweet, nutty caramel, a hint of that banana again. Sweet finish. Ok.

On draught. Rich caramel malt. Faint floral hops. Clear amber with minimal light khaki head. Taste is biscuit malt, very rich. Moderate low bitterness and a sweet finish. Long a great stand by beer back in the days when good craft was hard to find, I happily give this a few extra point for nastalgia.
