This is a good beer with quite a bit going on. The malt is at the fore with this with toffee/caramel and a touch of honey, sweetness is very noticble but there is also a sort of bitter stewed fruit flavour in there too. Yum!

The aroma is very pleasant. Malt and hops are well balanced in this fine perfume. The mouthfeel displays nice buttery texture without excessive syrup. The taste is very good. Well balanced hops and malt.

Bottle. Nice dark amber, almost ruby, with a white head. Lots of caramel and malt in the aroma. Tasting reveals honey wax, a bit of wood, anise. Very sweet, medium bitter, with a weird bitter in the finish. Initially a bit underwhelming because of the sweetness, but it’s quite good.

Anderson Valley tap takeover @ beer Rev... Pours a clear dark amberish copper color with a decent white head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma of caramel, honey, light fruity esters and some citrus hops... Could use more prominent hop aroma. Taste is caramel, sweet malts, citrus hops, grass, earth and a good smooth bitterness on the finish that’s not astringent. Medium body with a medium carbonation Thays smooth and a tiny bit of alcohol warmth. Great amber ale that just needs to a bit more hop aroma.

Very tasty amber ale, sweet and thick, like caramel liquor but watered down.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber body under a fizzy one finger beige head. The nose is all toasty malt with just a light hint of hoppiness. The flavor profile is pretty basic, slightly sweet with some toasty and husky maltiness. A minimal touch of bitterness in the middle, fading to a lingering sweet finish with a light hint of grape soda. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. This is ok, but the grape soda taste on the finish doesn’t do it any favors.
