Draught at the Lord Hobo, Cambridge, MA. Reddish amber with a thin cream head that laces the glass nicely; floral aroma; soft and malty flavour with some spicy orange fruit; and a crisply hopped finish that’s gentle and very moreish. Pleasant, but not outstanding.

Being socialized on Belgian amber ale Palm and discovering the wild hoppy world of IPAs somewhat 10 years later, I am glad to sample ever new and tasty takes on the unassuming amber ale. This one enhances the light mouthfeel and middle-of-the road maltiness of an amber ale with a nice floral IPA hoppiness, making it less sticky and highly drinkable. 2nd above average beer from an Anderson sampler.

Poured this beer from the bottle into a 4oz sampling glass to drink. The beer had a medium-dark amber color with a rusty orange hue, and a smaller foamy white had with light cling but some lacing and short retention. Its aroma featured a floral-fruity hops aspect, mixed with some rich caramel malt. The beer had a somewhat caramel malty sweetness paired with a lighter grainy bitterness. It was a thinner beer with a light mouthfeel, with low carbonation and was somewhat dry. Thank you to Eric and Siobhan for the tasting.

Bottle from The Euston Hazy amber brown colour, good head. Tropical fruit & resin aroma. Creamy resin & tropical fruit flavour. Sweet aftertaste. A good amber ale but not one of the best as suggested here.

Flaske 0,355l på Bishops Arms, Kiruna 28 Mar 12. Mørk aprikosfarget. Litt uklar. OK, litt farget skum. Fruktig aroma med en aning metall. Smaken er søt fruktig. Plommer. Svakt søtlig ettersmak.

Jeff’s garage. Surprisingly good, I mean really surprising, for me. Great malt and German barnyard flavor. Best amber I can remember.
