3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark gold in color with a foamy tan head. A strong aroma with a clear alcohol presence to join a lot of hops. Not as malty as I would have thought. Some vinous and wood qualities.

Aroma of malt smacks one in the face after a tap pour of this. Hints of citrusy hops found upon emerging oneís nose in the beer, but other than that...malt is what you get here. A pour of a mildly cloudy orange color (bad lighting) with a minimal but creamy head. The taste is a nice 180 with the heavy malt yeilding way to an insane bitterness. A good dry finish with emphasis on the florals and the re-occuring malt trend. Fairly average overall...a nice finish, but nothing to get into a rumble over.

Deep golden color, peachy citrus nose. Hops prevail then they slowly fade out in the lingering finish.

decent bitter flavor, didnt find much in the aroma....iíve had lots better bitters than this one....re-rate...ok, i was originally wrong..this one has plenty of hop aroma and citrus character....once you develop a palate for these, theyíre easy to spot...very good.

Surprised at the rating. I love this beer. It is one of my regular drinkers. Nice big malty front with a clean hop bite at the end. Very floral nose. One of those brews you could drink all day.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle. Attractive golden color with a slightly perfumey aroma with earthy hop smell as well. Nice tongue coating mouthfeel. It has a good solid bittering and nice earthy hop flavor. Nice bread and cookie flavor play quite well with the earthy hops.

Good head with hoppy aroma. Very full - nice and hoppy with a bitter aftertaste. Cloudy amber in color. I really like the full body and hoppy bite... A little one sided on the bitter - but thatís why Iíd drink it. Great stuff.

Not as good as a REAL ESB (UK) but, surprisingly, does not have the over-hoppedness of most west coast beers. Overall, not a bad try at an English style.
