Optigon (557), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Mar 13, 2008 Pours cloudy, light brown, with a moderate, highly retentive head. Aroma is strong, pleasant, spicy, and sweet. Moderate mouth feel. Pleasant sweetness with a strong hop backing. Very good ESB.
SamGamgee (585), Santa Cruz, California, USA Oct 3, 2008 12oz bottle. Clear amber with a lasting head. Hoppy aroma with light fruity yeast notes and some caramel malt. Pretty hoppy. Actually, this is quite hoppy and bitter, but retains the esb qualities, with some caramel malt, and fruity notes. Medium body and pretty smooth. Very drinkable. Pretty tasty. kmeves (1009), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA Sep 23, 2008 Pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is lightly sweet with caramel malt, earthy hops and sour apple. Flavor is very fruity with citrus and an earthy quality. Medium bodied, somewhat sticky texture. mgermani (617), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 17, 2008 Pours a pale copper with a lasting head and nice lacing and a light ginger-ale aroma. Tastes of anglo-hops with pale malt with a hint of butter and a light toastiness. Plenty of carbonation. I’m really not sure about this one - not enough crystal malt for my ESB expectations. One-dimensional cheap hopping, is this Goldings? Still marked as "Belk’s ESB". Hmmm. AgentSteve (831), SF Bay Area, California, USA Sep 14, 2008 Pours a bit copperish with a thin cream colored head. The nose is bland and very English in malt and subtle hop. The flavor is the same with a decent dry finish. Decent mouthfeel. fidel (204), Livermore, California, USA Sep 11, 2008 Golden amber, caramel, hoppy, bready, little citrus, little spice, little to harsh.
