A full body, ambrosial maltiness, and an arousing hoppy bite. This beer is not for the light beer drinker or those desiring no aftertaste.

Pours a golden straw color and holds a nice fluffy, white head. This ESB is a lighter, more golden color than the traditional copper color English ESB. The aroma is that of a traditional English ESB with distinct deep yeasty tones, but this one has a wave of floral, citrusy hops. I also get a slight fusel aroma since this ESB comes in at 6.8%. The taste is surprisingly maltier and more fruity than appears combined with bursts of citrus from the hops. It does have quite the lingering hoppy bite, which differs from a traditional ESB, but it isnít overwhelming. This is a close relative of the traditional English ESB, and one of the best that Iíve ever drank.

Big hop aroma and bite. Love the flavor paired with pastrami sandwich I had. Color a bit lacking but good flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Copper color with beige head. Malty fruity citrus aroma. Start is a biscuity malt flavor and some minerals. Followed by a light fruitiness. Herbal finish, I pick up some juniper berries and citrus.

Pours a very hazy light amber. Aroma is caramel some floral hops. Flavor follows with caramel and slight citrus. Fairly hoppy. Overall nice beer but appearance distracts.

Backlog. Tried on tap @ Grand ÷l & Mat. Always love an ESB, this is a decent addition to the style, not a favorite.

Pours a hazy copper with a thick tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, light vanilla, bourbon and grassy hops. Taste is carnage, vanilla, grass and citrus and a nice easy bitterness throughout with the sweet malt flavors dominating. Delicious esb.

Hazy copper pour. Aroma is toffee, grapefruit. Flavour has stone cracker malts with bitter grapefruit rind and a slight herbal note. Good.

On tap at Anderson Valley, pours a hazy copper orange with a small white head. Aroma is very subtle, with light notes of vanilla, bourbon, and English hops. Flavour is unusual, bringing out loads of wood, vanilla, English malt, and English hops in back. Donít think Iíve ever had a barrel aged ESB, but this execution is done very well, despite the seemingly odd should of styles to barrel age. Everything is in balance and harmony. Good stuff, just not really my thing.

22 oz. bottle, pours hazy golden with a white head. Great aroma of hops, caramel malt and some fruit. Flavour is somewhat muted - caramel, some hops, wheat and herbs. Very nice.

Bottle date: nunya! Pours an amber with a finger of light cream foam. This falls in a couple minutes to a beer with moderate lace. Smells of malts (english tone) with a bit of a hit of bitter, burnt caramel. This is the nose I generally look for in an ESB, but this is a little too subdued. Flavor is of malts and a weird, over powering flavor I place akin to sushi wrap (seaweed). Really this flavor is overpowering anything else I am tasting, unfortunately. The body is a bit thin with high carb and a semi dry finish. Iím a bit disappointed by this and would not likely order again on my own buck. Serving type: bottle 03-06-2012

Notes from 12-28-2010 -- Golden with little to no head. Sweet lightly malty with some citrusy hops in the aroma. Tastes sweet with strong citrusy hops at the end. Very drinkable, a little too strong hop flavor
