zappafan99 (213), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA May 1, 2008 Nice, good for cutting through a saucy dinner. Bitter, without being pungent. Fruity, without being too sweet. More even than Brutal Bitter by Rogue. A good session beer..if you like American Northwest Hops. Nice recipe, nice execution.
Beerman6686 (536), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2008 Poured a hazy orange color with a white head. Aroma was pretty balanced, nothing stuck out too much. Flavor was fairly malty with a hop kick in the finish. Not bad for the style. boFNjackson (465), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 3, 2008 Bottle... Poured foggy orange with a white head. Aroma is buttery with hops and malt that’s very earthy. Great hop and malt balanced flavors, and thick candy-like sugars that reminds of caramel. Very full finish that’s very tasty. alexsdad06 (554), Ohio, USA Jun 9, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium sized off white head leaving significant lacing. The aroma is earthy with floral and herbal notes. Flavor is moderately sweet with caramel malts and citrus predominating. I didn’t get as much citrus in the nose. Medium bodied. Decent. Gregis (848), Overland Park, Kansas, USA Jun 1, 2008 Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors, in Granite City, IL. Pours a hazy amber with lots of fine suspended particles and a dense, rocky, off-white head that leaves behind sheets of lace upon the glass. The nose is a pleasant and muted blend of bready malt with floral and citric hops. On the light side of medium-bodied, the mouthfeel is silky-slick with a solid bitter-hopped finish. Like a marriage of an ESB and a solidly hopped APA (or mild IPA), the flavor is of sweet, toasted caramel malt with a solid backing of bitter floral and citric hops. This is a hop-head’s kind of ESB. bb (1950), Martinez, California, USA May 29, 2008 Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Light citrus, caramel aroma. Caramel, light woodsy, grassy, citrus flavors. Medium-light body. Well balanced. Lingering citrus, woodsy hops, and caramel.
