douglas88 (707), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Apr 23, 2008 Updated: Apr 24, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep copper color with a awe inspiring thick off-white head. The aroma is mostly deep malts. The taste is very good; some rich caramel and lightly toasted malts and a nice hop content. A really nice body; creamy and full. This one surprised me. A good beer for sure.
harrisoni (5106), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 18, 2008 Bottle at GBBF 08. Copper clear colour. Overly peppery hoppy beer. Candy sugar sweet aroma too. Cor, that’s just a bit empty and not great. Too bitter. Steinface (63), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2008 Filled with malt and hops. Hits you right away, with the aroma and taste. Nothing spectacular. Hoppy bite and lingering aftertaste. Alrighty then patrick767 (1396), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 14, 2008 bottle, labeled "belk’s ESB" - Pours amber with a one finger head. It smells of caramel malt and plenty of hops. The flavor is strong on the citrus hops, but balanced by the sweet caramel. It’s hoppier than most ESBs and very west coast. Fortunately I like that in a beer. Very enjoyable. Fin (2164), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 12, 2008 Bottle picked up by Craig at GBBF, cheers mate, and shared at Cropredy Festival 2008 Pours light amber with a white head. Slick citrus with some custard cream biscuit, bitterness lingers, nice beer. hughie (2150), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 9, 2008 Bottle at GBBF ’08, under the Belk’s name. Dark gold with a small off white head. Hoppy aroma and strong, sweet bitter taste. Lots of fizz. Like it. This was my #100 US beer, so that is my third national century after England and Belgium.
