Naka (412), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 22, 2008 A dirty amber apple cider color with very little to no head. A very fruity bready aroma with a hint of bitterness, but not a whole lot. A tasty toffee malty flavor. Doesn’t have much bitterness at all, just a hint at the end. Has decent body from the carbonation.
cgarvieuk (2350), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 27, 2008 Bottle at cropredy from GBBF 08 ... Copper, very fruity little bready, little toffee malts nice malt character very tasty upfront, but huge drying bitter linger that lets it down for me. little gassy;definite amerian tones that i aslo detected in CA blond(eel river).but notbthat intense hop Wegro (168), Fresno, California, USA Aug 25, 2008 has a hoppy, peppery, toasty aroma. pours a very english ESB copper/gold color, a little hazy. has a very hearty flavor with peppery hops, sweetish malts and a thick mouthfeel. alcohol evident but not obtrusive. just lets you know you’re drinking a big boy beer. thick with enough carbo to keep it from being too creamy or heavy. nice bitter finish on this one. a winner in my book. i wish more west coast breweries would make ESB style beers. Mes_and_Sim (4320), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 25, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at GBBF. Superb bright amber with a good white head. Lovely creamy malt aroma with decent earthy notes and a good hoppy topping. Flavour wise it’s not even close to an ESB but it’s certainly tasty. A good, well balanced all rounder and really enjoyable. Straight down the line but everything it does, it does well. harrisoni (5121), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 18, 2008 Bottle at GBBF 08. Copper clear colour. Overly peppery hoppy beer. Candy sugar sweet aroma too. Cor, that’s just a bit empty and not great. Too bitter. Steinface (68), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2008 Filled with malt and hops. Hits you right away, with the aroma and taste. Nothing spectacular. Hoppy bite and lingering aftertaste. Alrighty then
