Draught at Churchkey. Extremely dark brown pour with a small bubbly head. Nose and flavor hold beautifully integrated vanilla, oak, and whiskey notes, along with touches of lactic cream, roast, and cacao. Always nice to have a touch of bourbon barrel in something that isn’t 10% +. Good stuff!

Tap: Dark brown with a tan ring head. Wonderful aroma of an almond joy bar, sweet whiskey, and malts. Flavors of caramel, marshmallow and molasses. Very tasty. The finish is thin which fits with the oatmeal stout and makes it not too heavy. A great stout for transitioning from Winter to Spring!

(draft at Beer Revolution on 2/14) No head. Slight roasted coconut flavor. Light body. Not surprised considering the alcohol. No appreciable aroma. Watery body. Got what I deserved for a 5.8% bbl "stout"

On draft at Beer Revolution. It pours dark brown/black with a tan head. The aroma has cola, vanilla, caramel and light cocoa. The flavor has big notes of vanilla, lots of drying wood tannins and cola. More wood in the finish. Light on the palate and with the lower gravity, the barrel influence is a bit strong. Not bad though.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 oteyj (1880) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Black pour with a one finger frothy tan head. Bourbon vanilla, caramel coffee milk chocolate in the nose, with a flavor of soft roast and lactic creaminess. Toffee in the finish. Medium body- perhaps a tad low for the style with a dry roasty chalk like finish
