COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Pours a nice dark brown, almost black, with a tan head. Aroma of bourbon and wood. Taste is again mostly bourbon and wood. Very little beer taste there. This is decidedly not an ’imperial stout’. I won’t get this one again. Disappointing.

Bottle. Closer to a porter than a stout, I thought. Nice enough though; the bourbon flavour stops short of being overpowering.

Bottle at City Beers. Black with a coffee head. Aroma is sweet whiskey malt. Flavour is velvet vanilla, plum, toasted malt with a warm whiskey base, not too boozy. Finish is sweet malt.

This is a very smooth stout that has a soft variation of after tastes. It is easy to drink both with a meal or all by itself.

Unclear black beer with a good beige standing head. Taste is bouban, wood, coffee, caramel, chocolade and some bitter hops.

(Bottle) Black with good tan head. Nice aroma - toffee, roast barley, bourbon. Medium body, medium carbonation and smooth. Flavor is rich without being overwhelming. Toffee and chocolate up front. Excellent bourbon notes from mid palate to finish. There’s quite some complexity too with some vanilla notes and some black coffee like bitterness. Excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
