COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Very nice stout from a bomber bottle purchased at Wegmans in Collegeville. The beer pours a black color with a very dark reddish hue. At first, there is a decent, brown head sitting atop the beer. But it doesnít last very long. It dwindles quickly down to just a ring around the inside of the glass. There isnít any lacing either. Those is quite strong, dominated with sweet milk chocolate, a touch of alcohol and some vanilla. The body is definitely on the sweet side, with notes of creamy chocolate, vanilla, whiskey, light flowery hops, roasted barley, toasted bread, light coffee and some caramel. The finish is a little boozy, but features some really nice chocolate, coffee and sweet flavors. Even though this beer is "only" 6.9%, it seems to play catch up with the brain about halfway through. Delicious stout!

I had high expectation for this one, but was disappointed, wasnít has good as I hoped. You can taste the wild turkey, but was still lacking the flavor I was looking for,.

Aroma: roasted malt with chocolate notes. App: Black with thin tan head. Taste: well balanced flavor between bourbon and chocolate/coffee flavor of the base stout. Palate: full but not overwhelming, medium finish. Overall: very enjoyable and well balanced. One of the best of the style Ive had.

On tap at ít Klooster, Delft. Black with a beige head. Sweet aroma of bourbon, coffee, roasted malts. Taste is sweet, bourbon, alcohol, chocolate, more roasted towards the end, malts, coffee. Light aftertaste of bourbon and chocolate. Not bad, bit thin in both aroma and taste.

Bottle, been aging in a bottle for a year since buying. Aroma mostly od bourbon, with some coffee underneath. Looks nice, brown head, black color with brown reflections. The taste is where itís at-mostly bourbon notes (something like grapes), which were pretty strong in the aftertaste but did not cover the rest, some vanilla, no taste of alcohol at all. Under the barrel flavors was some chocolate flavor. Donít know about fresh, but after aging it was a great one.
