Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Incredibly drinkable, with the barrel being a part of the whole, rather than dominating, as it so often does.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours black with a warm, reddish hue and a small light brown head. Very sweet and intense Bourbon aroma. Medium body, sweet roast, swet licorice, tons of vanilla from the Bourbon. And because of the strength no real alcohol burn. Extremely easygoing and drinkable. 201115

Tap at Culmination. Super dark pour. Soft - mild bourbon. Too mild for the style. Good but not great.

Bomber. Looks very stouty in my glass. Roast and all the usual suspects in the nose (except I’m not getting almost any whiskey). Mouth is medium sweet, thin for the style, dried fruit, cocoa, hints of vanilla and while I guess I can taste the whiskey, it’s super subtle. I prefer my BA stouts to be a 40lb sledgehammer in the bourbon department. Just being honest.

Poured from bomber into tulip glass. One inch tan creamy head. Beer is very dark, almost black. Some soft lacimg. Aroma is lightly malty with some bourbon notes. Taste is smooth. Beer is medium to full bodied. Light carbonation. Some light bourbon notes. Smooth finish with notes of vanilla. Overall good barrel aged stout. Nice to know origin of barrels used. Not the strongest bourbon notes but very enjoyable.
