Duval snifter: Deep maple brown hue with a small and fading head and little head. The aroma has notes of raisin, plum, currant, toasted and caramelized malts, aromatic malts, and noticeable phenols. The taste starts quite fruity and with a heavy tone of malty backbone. the midsection displays a bit of hoppy spice and bitter leading to a finish that has a balance of oak and yeasty character. The sublime funky note adds some depth to this beer, yet it never completely gains a full mouthfeel of the classic Dubbels. Some meaty smoky tones make this more interesting. Overall, it’s an fair example of the sytle but never completes the deal. I was left with the feeling of wanting more.

Fruity, raisens, figs, some cocoa, brown sugar, super aromatic, some soy sauce in finish. Too high abv for me but if your doctor said only one beer a day this would be a good one to consider! Tasty dubbel.

Raisiny vinous nose, some powdered chocolate notes. Deep, deep onyx red color, medium frothy head with nice lacing. Brown sugar rum raisin sweetness, slight bitter notes--very smooth. Creamy body, subtle smooth carbonation, horehound candy finish. A very nice beer, delicate and complex, alcohol is completely masked.

Pours a copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is pretty sweet with caramel malts, yeast, and some dark fruits. Flavor is of caramel malts, yeast, candied sugar, dark fruits, and some banana. Slight warming on the finish.

Bottle: Poured a dark dirty red with not much head. The aroma was sweet dried fruit. The flavor had hints of yeast, banana, spice and sweet fruits. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this beer.

Poured from 22oz bottle a dark reddish-brown with a thin tan head and little carbonation. Aromas of sweet candy, raisins, toffee, banana, and yeast. Flavor is over-ripe banana, bubblegum, some spicey clove, plus somewhat of an alcohol vapor that turns a bit astringent at the end. Palate is rather dry given the sweet aroma and has a spicy tingle that dominates throughout. This beer was OK, but I was hoping for more. It seems a little bland for a double. There needs to be more depth to it IMHO.
