mikey (320), farmington, Utah, USA Oct 28, 2005 Poured a bright clear orange/copper color with a small quickly receding off white head. The nose was fruity and spicy with sweet cloves, some white grape and citrus notes as well. The taste starts sugary and yeasty with buiscuit. Green apple and white grape come in next with a spicy dryness in the end. The beer finished with warming alcohol that reminds me the beer is 10% abv. This was a little too boozey for me. This one really kicked my ass. Be warned, your first one of the night may be you last.
SuperDave70 (720), Arizona, USA Aug 12, 2008 Deep amber color pour with a big foamy head that lasted throughout. Aroma of apricots and apples, yeast, spice and definite alcohol. Flavor is similar. Lots of sweet fruit up front with the spice coming next and then a big alcohol bite on the finish. Very tasty, but the alcohol starts to overpower after a couple glasses. mikalooch (14), , New Jersey, USA Aug 7, 2008 Pours amber with a very thin head that disappears quickly. Aroma of apple with a touch of honey. Taste at first is very fruity, apples and pears, mixed with bread. Turns sour in the aftertaste.
Booze is apparant. Very average offering, would try it again though. fidel (119), Livermore, California, USA Jul 9, 2008 Amber, fruity, caramel , sweet and sour, bready, slight licorice, spice, alcohol, Angeloregon (1829), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 6, 2008 From a bottle poured a dark orange-amber body (dark for a trippel). Sweet, sticky, nutty, boozy. Syrupy and cloying. Alcohol not well masked. Not a very enjoyable trippel. Rather disappointing. Sledge Jr (2708), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 25, 2008 In the bomber bottle from Roof Brothers in Paducah. This bottle was aged for four years. Pours a hazy butterscotch color with a quickly dying white head. This beer has an amazing apple aroma. It smells like it just might be real sour, but it is not. There’s big alcohol heat to this. Super fruity: pears, apples, and homebrew cider in the flavor. A medium sweetness flows through it, but I detect a slight splash of diacetyl. Quite good. Plenty of esters. I like it.
