Bottle. Aroma of dark roasted malt and a small bit of chocolate. Near opaque brown color with an off-white head that ringed. Medium in body with near creamy carbonation. The flavor starts with a hint of sour, followed by dark roasted malt. A little coffee. The finish is relatively dry, and there seems to be a bitter chocolate persisting in the mouth. Although there does not seem to be a consistent flow of flavors from aroma to finish, it is a wonderfully tasty porter.

Draft @ The Front Door in Boise: Pours a dark brown color with a moderate tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma is mild of roasted malts and mocha. Taste is has more mocha that roast, a bit of coffee, and a light creaminess. A little thin on the body for the style.

Draft @ Front Door, Boise, ID: Pours a dark black color, nice tan head. Nose of light cocoa and dark fruit, some roast, but very light. The flavor is thin, some sweet roast and vanilla, but lacking the chewy body this style needs. The finish is thin and light. Eh, ok.

Dark cocolate brown with a moderate tan coloured head that doesn’t last very long. Nice aromas of bitter chocolate, faint coffee. Very chocolatey palate, faintly raisiny and nutty notes as well, moderately sweet, and earthy faintly minerally note in the finish. A solid porter.

This black ale poured with a fluffy tan head. The flavor is chocolate malt, but is way too thin. There is a slightly bitter finish. This is a disappointing version of one of my favorite styles.
