A nice black porter with a tall tan head. Great roasty malt aroma with nut and chocolate hints. A very smooth and well balanced porter with lots of roastiness in the malt and some chocolate tastes that stuck around in the aftertaste.

Extremely dark, clear, ruby ale with a small, creamy, lightly tanned head. MIlk chocolate, cashews and macadamia nuts in the nose. Perfectly balanced flavor with some caramel, burnt nuts and unsweetened espresso. Medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Medium-length, burnt, dry finish.

Harsh when cold, but develops nicely as it warms up. For sure a nice looking beer, charred brown with somewhat soapy head. Aroma is deep and smoky with some dark chocolate and ovaltine. Flavor is smooth and chocolatey with some slightly out-of-place acerbic smokiness. Body is sweet, but melds to a farily dry finish. This a bare-bones porter--all the basics but no interesting fruity notes or the creamy palate that I like.

[bottle] Pours a dark brown with some red highlights and a thick tan head. Rich and roasty malt and coffee aroma with some good chocolate hints. Good roasted coffee taste with a smooth chocolaty malt middle and then a nice and bitter coffee finish.
