22oz bottle. Pours a deep brown colored body with a creamy, finger-width, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is a slightly nutty caramel, some bread, and a light chocolate roast. Flavor is better with more of a creamy roast that lasts from beginning to end. Slightly bready caramels, nuts, and a light chocolate accompany the increasing roast taste that stays at a moderate level. A real approachable roast. Just a hint of raisin fruitiness as well. Finishes slightly dry and moderately bitter with an aftertaste that lingers for a good amount of time. Creamy, nutty caramel/chocolate roastiness in the lingering flavor. Medium to full bodied, very smooth, and moderately carbonated. Overall, the roasts in the flavor really make this beer. Theyíre distinct, but stay very balanced. Creamy, mostly sweet flavor accompanies the balancing roasts well. Not bad.

Bottle. Poured black with a thick brown head. Aroma was full of malts with a slight hint of a milk chocolate. Flavor was full of dark notes that were a bit overwhelming at times but they did relent to a light chocolate finish.

Full bodied porter, which is important, as Iím absolutely fed up with these thin porters Iím seeing. Malty but not too much so, and enough chocolate to finish.

oteyj (2130) - New Hampshire, USA - OCT 6, 2009
Dark, almost black pour with reddish tints and a two finger tight tan head. Aroma is caramel, cocoa nib, roasted malt, fennel, and toffee. Perhaps a bit sweeter and creamier than roasty. Flavor is somewhat one dimensional: a caramel chocolate malt sweetness yields some creaminess and hints of toffee. Palate is quite light on both the body and carbonation, finishing clean. Not the greatest example of the style, but enjoyable just the same.

A nice coffee colored head with an almost black body. A light aroma with some slightly fruity notes. A medium body with a chocolaty malt and light caramel notes. The finish is smooth and tasty with a nice light malt flavor.

Bottle, shared by Papsoe. Itís a dark reddish brown beer topped by a creamy beige head. Sweetish nose with coffee and hints of butterscotch in a pleasant way. Sweetish flavor with coffee and roasted malts. Even though the beer seems sweet, itís quite dry in the mouth, and full-bodied. Bitter and roasted finish. A really pleasant porter. 090821

A nice Porter overall, not a blow-away rendition by any stretch. Pretty much up to the standards you expect for a Porter but doesnít go any extra miles. Somewhat musty on the nose, and somewhat fruit-sweet on the finish.

Botella. Clear deep dark brown colour. Roasty malty dark fruity aroma. Rather thin mouthfeel. Flavor of roasty malt and caamel with some chocolate and dark fruits.
