Bottle. Dark brown to black with a lush brown head that lasts all the way to the bottom. Smooth and a little creamy with roasted malts, a touch of coffee, and a definite chocolate aftertaste.

Pint on tap at The Davis Graduate. It’s no longer on tap. Disappointing faint, metallic aroma with barely any roastiness or any other porter notes. Pretty faint. Mildly transparent mahogany body with a smallish, quickly dissipating light tan head. Has a bit of a minerally, watery start. Becomes a little rich and bitter with unsweetened bitter chocolate flavors in the middle. Finishes thin and boring. Thoroughly disappointing.

Light roasted malt, chocolate and coffee- basic aroma, but with a hint of unclean offness about it. Not drastically off, but enough to distract. The body is dark brown to black and holds a thick mocha head. Very mild tart notes on the first sip, followed by chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, cocoa and caramel. Decent full mouth feel. Tastes and smells just a tadd off.

[bottle] Pours a dark brown with some red highlights and a thick tan head. Rich and roasty malt and coffee aroma with some good chocolate hints. Good roasted coffee taste with a smooth chocolaty malt middle and then a nice and bitter coffee finish.

Pours dark brown with a crimson hue and a good sized soapy thick head. The aroma has dark caramel malt, rich cream, milk chocolate, molasses and little bit of hops. Medium smooth body with fairly soft carbonation. The flavor starts with dark toasted malt that is a bit roasty as well. There are also the traits from the aroma, but it seems to be hoppier with spicy / piny hops. The finish has a lingering hoppiness. Very solid porter.

This opens a bit gushy, all tall mocha brown head that takes awhile to settle down and allow any additions to the glass. A pleasant mix of light chocolate and coffee dominate the aroma, and the flavor is exactly what was promised from the aroma. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a good middle of the road Porter.
