beer pours a very dark brown that glows a deep red when held up to the light. big puffy brown head that retains and laces well. nose is a good mixture of sweet maltiness and a rich, chocolatey roastiness. flavor is nice and roasty/malty, without and dry-roasted astringency. very easy and fun to drink. this is a really good porter, with a nice complexity of sweet-roasted malts, and a nice little hop bight in the finish (Northern Brewer?)

On draft at KClingers: This poured a dark, deep black with a thin tan head. Smooth and slightly licorice-laced drinker. Not much of an aroma, but the flavor presents nice profiles of plum and a chalky roastiness. Id love for this to have a heavier mouthfeel, but this is a darn good session beer for a cold night. Bottle pours a deep inky black with a constant tan head. Spotty lacing. Nice big chocolate aroma. Lightly smokey and coffee in the flavor with plenty of chocolate here as well. Moderate palatte but softly carbonated and smooth. Thanks Jordan

Pours dark brown with a crimson hue and a good sized soapy thick head. The aroma has dark caramel malt, rich cream, milk chocolate, molasses and little bit of hops. Medium smooth body with fairly soft carbonation. The flavor starts with dark toasted malt that is a bit roasty as well. There are also the traits from the aroma, but it seems to be hoppier with spicy / piny hops. The finish has a lingering hoppiness. Very solid porter.

Dark, dark chocolate brown; almost black. Thick cardboard brown head, a web of lace. Very appealing nutty cocoa and dry mocha aroma; hazelnut and sweet chocolate. Nutty brown-ale taste, moreso than any porter. Roasted mocha malts as it warms up; more hazelnut, brown sugar, dark raisins. Dry and sandpapery feel, smooth on the back end with a bite at the swallow. A good porter, more like a brown, but it evolves.

Deep dark pour, medium head. Medium body... chocolate, coffee, and near-bread-like malt notes. Piney hops. Major pine and dark chocolate... "chocolate-covered-pine-needles," if those exist, would be similar to this in a few ways. Very nice. Will buy again once located.

Refreshing porter. Nicely sweet but not too heavy. Nice carbonation bite adds to mouth-feel. I really enjoyed this one.
