Robust, malty aroma has fruity and hay undertones and a hint of - peppers? It pours a dark and semi-transparent chestnut brown with a fairly thick and foamy wheat head. Flavor has malty, hay, caramel and subtle apple juice tones and some smoky hints. Smooth texture is firm and fairly fizzy, leaving a malty and fruity finish with a hoppy hay overtone. Mas than what I expect from a lager - muy bueno!

Poured from a can. Clear, reddish brown color. Don't think I've seen another beer quite like it. Large, foamy head. Coffee or caramel aroma. Weird flavor. Not bad, but probably won't buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Stagshead with no mention of Mexican in title. Pours brownish with beige head. Light nose of malt and coffee. Tastes of coffee, apples, chalk, malt, smoke, earth, and some leather. Finishes dry and easy drinking

16oz can from "Lifesource" Salem. $2.29. I am assuming this is the same beer there is no mention of "Mexican" and the alc is 5.5% Pours a dark amber colour with a large frothy.thick eggshell white head. Aroma plain toasted malts, peanuts, demerara sugar. Sweet malty lager, very simple..slight hop in the end but ends watery. Palte is OK normal for style. Not bad but in reality i would take a Negra Modelo over this

Pounder can picked up at Bier Thirty in Bown tonight for about $2.25... Poured into my slim tulip produces an abundant 3 finger tannish head atop a clear walnut brew.... the head dies back pretty quickly but leaves good lacing. For the lion’s share, the nose shows toasty malts... but there is a "tinny/metallic" quality that I am picking up on pretty heavily... it dissipates with warmth, but is no doubt there. Flavor is better, but still a mild metallic element remains.. more though the malts shine very clean... no real hoppiness to come into play.. dark toast is the big player on the finish. Body is light/medium and a pretty abundant carbonation... Decent beer (and I love dark lagers), but the tinny quality is pretty off-putting. Overall, this is a nice beer for peeps that appreciate dark lagers. Otherwise, the will pan it. I like it a lot.

This one poured a light brown color with an off white head. Aroma was light caramel, toasy, some biscut and grass too. Flavor was similar, nice balance, not adjuncty and worth buying another.

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a mostly transparent brown with foamy off-white head. Smells and tastes of caramel and dark malt with a nice, light mouthfeel and a fairly dry finish. A decent lager.

Tap @ Black Bottle Fort Collins. Pours a clear dark reddish brown appearance with a moderate brown head and decent head retention. Spicy butterscotch, cardamom, mild chocolate, strange aroma. Tangy fruity, corny, watery, bland yet obnoxious flavor.

Can: dark brown pour with large beige head. Aroma is earthy with some dusty toasted grains, soft cocoa powder and a touch of toffee. The flavor is interesting with barely sweetened toffee, nutty, and a earthy grain. Palate is smooth with a light sweetness that grows mildly dry/bitter in the end. I was not expecting much but was surprised by how flavorful and easy to drink this beer was. I would drink more if this becomes available locally.

Aroma of toast, light powdery chocolate and citrus. Appearance is dark red with bone head. Flavor is somewhat metallic, some toast as well. Appearance is light, creamy, and average. Alright.
