With a brilliant, deep copper hue and creamy beige-colored head, our Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale has inviting aromas of caramelized malt and baking bread with highlights of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and seasonal spices. The pleasantly creamy mouthfeel and silky body embrace the sweet caramel flavors and tang of spices (with just a hint of hops) that ends in a smooth, round finish. Malts: Pale Two-Row, Maris Otter, Munich, Crystal 120L, Dark Chocolate, Pumpkin Puree Hops: Bravo

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2014 355 ml bottle. Appearance: Dark brown body, with a Small and thin light beige head., suprisingly more then with ok retention. And it also leaves light lacing on the glass. Aroma: lots of spices( clove, cinnamon, cardamon) and pumpkin. , Taste : mildl sweet, with lots of spices(cardamon, cinnamon,) and a bit of pumpkin. Light bitterness on the aftertaste. slightly below medium body, below average carbonation. Good pumpkin ale, . Fact is we can’t be super picky at this side of the pond, when it comes to pumpkin ales. So I’m allready happy for now with this one.

I don’t love it. Not a huge fan of most anderson valley beers. Nice appearance and great aroma but overall I was looking for more pumpkin. Sweet label though.

Dark brown. Nose pretty heavy with sweet spice and mild fruity pumpkin. Flavor is nutmeg and cinnamon with vegetal pumpkin and toasted malt. Lingering sweet spice and mild pumpkin. Decent, but a little odd.

(Anderson Valley Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale) Bottle 355 ml at home, served into a snifter. ABV 6% Dark brown colour on the body, with nice red ruby hues when hold against the light. Small and thin head, light beige in colour, with okay retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Very nice aroma, lots of spices, clove, cinnamon, cardamon, while there is some actual pumpkin aroma on the back, albeit faint. Taste is mildly sweet, again lots of spices, cardamon, cinnamon, a bit of ginger on the finish. A touch of bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium thin body, a bit low on the carbonation. Quite good.

This is fairly subtly spiced for a pumpkin beer which is different from being subtly spiced in general. It is a lovely chestnut brown color w/ a huge head and tons and tons of lace. This seems to be a bit less cinnamon/clove focused than a lot of this style and veers more toward nutmug. Tasting it, a resinous ginger character comes more to the foreground. I am not sure what I would guess the base beer of this is, something along the lines of an brown ale or maybe an American take on an ESB. There is a nice, toasty and very slightly roasty malt backbone to this that does a good job of supporting the spices, along w/ its creamy mouthfeel. I am not exactly a huge fan of the style but this is done well.
