With a brilliant, deep copper hue and creamy beige-colored head, our Fall Horniní Pumpkin Ale has inviting aromas of caramelized malt and baking bread with highlights of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and seasonal spices. The pleasantly creamy mouthfeel and silky body embrace the sweet caramel flavors and tang of spices (with just a hint of hops) that ends in a smooth, round finish. Malts: Pale Two-Row, Maris Otter, Munich, Crystal 120L, Dark Chocolate, Pumpkin Puree Hops: Bravo

Can from Total Wine in Boca Raton, FL. Pours a deep orange-brown with a one finger off-white head. Mild lacing washes away quickly. Aroma of spices such as cloves and pumpkin spice. Also the pumpkin and malts come through in the aroma more as it warms. Taste is not quite as exciting as the aroma. The pumpkin and spices are most prevalent. Also a malts and a rather muddy taste also comes through. Medium carbonation, medium body. A little oily. Finishes with a hint of heat. Not bad.

12 oz bottle- Pours dark red to brown with a nice light tan two finger head. Aroma is pumpkin and spices, a little tart, pleasing. The taste is creamy, pumpkin, roasted grains, nutmeg and cinnamon. Good beer, my favorite style for sure!

Beer #2. 12 oz can. Aroma is as typical as the Uinta, with spices prominent. Has a nice roastiness. Pours a dark mahogany with a medium beige head with good retention and leaves some lacework. Sweet with more savoriness and roastiness than the Uinta. Hops are noticeable in the finish. A little thin. A little more character than beer #1.

Clear dark amber with a light big-bubbles head and wide streaks of lace. Taste begins with sweet malt, quickly adding pumpkin and the associated spices. Bittering is only whatever carbonation can provide. This is the equivalent of fruit beers, tasting decent at the beginning, growing old before the bottle is finished. Good pumpkin taste, but, for me, not satisfying.

Bottle. Deep amber color. Tan head. Small amount of lace. Smells and taste like most pumpkins. Maybe in the top 5.

12 ounce can from Downtown Wine & Gourmet, Harrisonburg. Pours a clear copper color with a large foamy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong pumpkin, strong pumpkin spices, caramel and stone fruits. The taste is toasted malts, toasted pumpkin, caramel, mild nuts and nutmeg, cinnamon and other spices in the finish. Medium bodied, slight lingering spice, low carbonation, nice balance. Very nice pumpkin ale.

Shocking balance on the pumpkin spices, just the right amount, itís never filmy or oily, super session-able, really nice caramel malts almost porter like. I donít get a lot of actual pumpkin itís mainly the spices. I donít understand the low rating this beer rocks!

Crystal clear dark amber with a slight deep red tinge topped with a foamy light tan head. Strong cinnamon aroma along with some earthy vegetal components. The strength of the cinnamon in the aroma had me worried, but itís delicious and not overdone at all in the taste. Thereís some other nice fall spice flavor in there (definitely nutmeg) and a really good pumpkin/gourd flavor that gives this beer real depth. The spices really dominate but Iím sure thereís some hops mixed in there somewhere. Thereís a nice bittersweet dark chocolate flavor in there too which is separate from the pumpkin pie flavor but totally compliments it. Lasting cinnamon spice and bite, but again not too much. Excellent pumpkin beer and it appears to be the first release of this from Anderson Valley (why would I expect anything less?).
