With a brilliant, deep copper hue and creamy beige-colored head, our Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale has inviting aromas of caramelized malt and baking bread with highlights of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and seasonal spices. The pleasantly creamy mouthfeel and silky body embrace the sweet caramel flavors and tang of spices (with just a hint of hops) that ends in a smooth, round finish. Malts: Pale Two-Row, Maris Otter, Munich, Crystal 120L, Dark Chocolate, Pumpkin Puree Hops: Bravo

Pours a dark black/brown color with a huge off-white head. The aroma is pumpkin, cinnamon, spices, and sweet malts. The taste is light and full of spices and pumpkin. Pretty good but a little to light for my taste.

Nto a huge fan of the style but it seems well-made and par for the style, lots of spice and pumpkin still.

Sample at SF Beer Beek Opening Gala 2014. Clear copper with a small head. Aroma and taste of spices, mainly cinnamon, nuts, malt, caramel and some fruit. Drinkable but not my kind of beer.

Pours clear dark orange amber with a creamy yellow tan head. Aroma is spice. Tickled my windpipe! Med body or a bit less. Flavor is very strong spice. Fairly dry and spicy/bitter. Lots of spice in the finish

Nice slightly hazy deep brown coloured body with a rich ruby, amber and copper coloured tint and a solid, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of very pungent spice and squash - nice and fragrant with allspice, canella, caramelised sugars and a little bit of banana with the ever-present squash and earthy malt. Light-bodied; Oddly thin with no taste of the squash at all - just some very light malt and almost no spice in the flavour, only some caramel and light metal on the finish. Aftertaste is oddly lacking as well - not only are there no real flavours, but the beer just drifts off to water and the slightest bit of nuts and brown sugar. Overall, a very interesting beer with every indication that it would be a good tasting and complex beer, but in actuality, it was exactly opposite - water in almost every respect aside from the look and smell. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Tyson’s Corner (Falls Church), Virginia on 26-November-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-January-2014.

Can thanks to Brian. Pours clear ruby with a large beige creamy head and nice lacing. Aroma is spices, caramel, pumpkin. Allspice, cloves, nutmeg, dark sugars, cinnamon. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, little bitterness, fairly spicy, but not overwhelming. Medium body. Not bad.

Medium brown color, lots of lacing. Clove, nutmeg, sweet potato aroma. Flavor has same plus cinnamon and roast from the malt. Sweet and bitter at the same time. Solid for a pumpkin brew, i especially like that it keeps the spicing subdued so that it doesn’t quickly wear out its welcome. But that also means that it doesn’t approach the best pumpkin brews which can taste like delicious pie.

Bottle:   Deep dark burnt orange, very dark, thin to moderate foamy tannish head, little lacing.   Strong spicy nose, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.   Smooth on the tongue, not as spicy as the nose suggested but still flavorful.   A bit brighter on the tongue than on the nose.   Faint chocolate and caramel malt.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Clean finish, lingering spices and somewhat of a pumpkin bread flair.   Pretty tasty example.   Neat to see them come out with a new brew for the Fall.
