Draft. Poured a clear reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour tart fruit wood aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sour & dark sweet flavor with a medium sweet & sour finish of moderate duration. This is an unbalanced solid beer.

On tap. Dark brown / red color. Good thin khaki head persists, leaves good lace. Pretty nice - looking. Whiskey barrel in the nose, some caramel chocolate earthy hops. Nice smooth lighter carbonation. Lightly creamy texture. Light stickiness in the finish. Tart, lightly sour taste, not too much - a great amount. Light bittersweet. Some chocolate in the flavor, light earthy hop, creamy light whiskey notes, all in that moderate sour package. Really interesting stuff. Tasty. Not hard to drink. Was great to enjoy with lunch.

Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks solid; a semi-transparent brown with off-white lacing. Smells and tastes solid; sweet, sour, and BA’d. Good on the palate. Not what I expected, but good nonetheless.

Draft. Pours reddish copper with a beige head. Tart fruity dark cherry, woody tannic notes, medium acidity, and a little bit of harshness in the finish. Decent.

Draught @ Rogue Ales Public House, San Francisco. Rated on 17.10.2012.
Pours a cloudy dark brown colour with a white head. Aroma of rich sweet fruits, raisins, bread and sour berries. Flavour is really rich with malts, grassy hops, strong sour berries, wood and tannine-like elements. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a long, warming, sour finish. Quite an unique sour ale because of the maltiness here.

I wish I remember where I had this, but I think I had it at Mojo’s in Woodland several weeks ago. The aroma is fruity, sweet with hints of strawberry and light tart cherries. Light underlying chocolate and caramel aromas. Not bad at all, just faintly tart. Transparent dark garnet-amber body with a frothy off-yellow head present. Good lacing. A very attractive brew. Starts metallic, and scantly tart. Virtually no sourness present. Becomes big, roasty, chewy, and vinous. A massively chewy barleywine with hints of cocoa late. Not much else going on, especially in the way of funk. Not bad. A little hot late.

Amber pour, light head. Loads of tart fruit, oak, vinegar, some red wine notes. Flavor is nice and sour, but has a pretty decent fruity/malty character that lends itself nice to the beer. Damn nice beer.

At FWIBF, Cloudy brownish red pour, Fruit, wine, bourbon on the nose, sweet taste with a little tartness and some black licorice. Very enjoyable and interesting to say the least.

Mostly clear amber-brown color with a small light beige head. Interesting aroma, with big red berries, fairly tart, with some sweet malt. The flavor is both sweet and tart. Caramel malt base, vanilla, bourbon, berries, and oak. Medium-full body with medium tartness. An enjoyable beer overall.
