3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/3/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Awesome appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, light pepper, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness that lightly increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good DIPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours clear bright medium copper with thin off-white head. Aroma is mildly sweet caramel malt, floral and earthy hops. Taste is rather heavy caramel malt, light sweetness; dank earthy hops have a vegetal bitterness than lingers through the finish. All the right notes are here, just doesn’t quite meld well for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

Tap. Dark orange-brown with a fairly thick white head that dissipates well. Aromas of honey, caramel and malt, with some cookie-like spices in the background. Taste is bitter and hoppy throughout with a few sweet notes in the tail end. Great!!
