COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust. Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangoes, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

MALTS:
Pale Two-Row, Victory

HOPS:
Columbus, Chinook, Cascade

12 oz bottle. Pours cloudy orange yellow, white head. Aroma is sweet and slightly hoppy, taste is sweet - too sweet - towards the barleywine side of things. Finish has a slight hop bitter afterbite.

Bottle, 12oz. A hazy, orange-golden one, topped by a finger-thick off-white head leaving some lacings. The aroma is a bit bland for a DIPA I think, sort of low on hoppy scents. Some malty sweetness. There’s the same problem with the flavor, but at least it has a good bitterness. Orange peel, pine cones and a malty sweetness. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Mostly bitter finish, with both sweetness and bitterness. A beer that didn’t ring my bells. 130809

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.7%. Hazy deep golden colour, large white head. Strong hoppy aroma of oranges / orange marmalade and grapefruit, hints of caramel and pine needles. The flavour is first fruity and fresh, then a ferocious attack of piney and grapefruity American "C"-hops sets in, and leaves you with a massive bitter finish - all on a background of medium sweet crystal malts.

Pours a clear orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Thin rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, herbal hops, and some onion and garlic aromas. Taste is much the same with a pine-like flavor on the finish. There is a high amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is drinkable but borders on vegetal aromas and flavors with the hop profile present.
