Robust. Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangoes, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Piney and flowery hops, some medium fruity sweetness, light almost tropical fruity notes, and medium bitterness. Pretty good.

A spiciness, orange, honey are the aromas, fruity sweet. clear deep yellow with thin white head. in flavor I think pinot blanc, grapefruit, caramel, alcohol—barely buffered bitterness. surprising weight on the tongue. Love the label.

Impressive right out of the bottle. I don't think I've ever given a 5 for appearance but this one comes close: golden pour with off white sticky foam good retention. Aromas of citrus(mango seems pretty accurate) and floral hop. Tropical fruits carry over along with pink grapefruit, with rind and herbal hops lingering. Good brew a little too herbaceous for my tastes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear amber with about an inch of fluffy off-white head. Aroma of sweet, tropical fruit, a little pine, some caramel. Flavor is more subdued than the aroma suggested - more pine, less fruit, moderate bitterness, with hops somewhat overshadowed by caramel malt flavor.

A shade darker than the standard orange amber color of DIPA, with a typical two finger thick, and durable, head. The smell was that of tropical fruit (mango and melon) and some pine. The taste was usual for the style in terms of complexity. There were notes of oak and juniper up front, with some citrus fruits and candy sugar following. There was a sting of carbonation in the finish with a touch of Brett like funk. It was as if this DIPA has been mated with a Saison. The body was dense and sticky, with some tongue coating action. I liked this for a different take on the style.

From bottle. Pours a light, slightly murky copper with just a little off white head. Nose is delightfully hoppy with a hint of biscuits. Active carbonation and significant lacing. A lot going on with this beer--most of which is awesome. A deliciously twisting and bitter ride with a smooth, enduring finish. Another home run from AVB.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2014 Damn, this is good...not that I expected anything less from Anderson. Pours a clear gold, lacy head. Hits very smooth with some heft, then slowly warms with a soft bite at the end. Tastes like a good IIPA, but feels like an excited wine. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fresh bottle from Premier Gourmet. Peachy colour, big head, lacey. Mild mango aroma. Mellow IPA, big IBU, lots of malt, yet different fruity and citrus hops, still some palate erasing. Not the typical American DIPA, but good drinkability, tasty and satisfying.

Bottle:   Fiery golden, lively carbonation, large foamy off-white head, nice lacing.   Somewhat of a dank hoppy aroma, musty floral notes, slight pine.   Citrus peel on the tongue, hoppy, a little floral.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Comes across as a 1˝ IPA, not quite a "Double".   Finishes with a soft citrus and pith combination.   Not as sweet or full bodied as I would have expected.   Tiz okay, but not quite IIPA material in my book.

On tapo at Bistro DIPA Fest poured a clear golden amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, pine and grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, pine, earthiness and citrus with a smooth dry lightly bitter finish.
