COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust. Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangoes, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

MALTS:
Pale Two-Row, Victory

HOPS:
Columbus, Chinook, Cascade

Bottle. Pours a clear dark orange with a medium white head on top with beautiful lacing. Aroma is tropical and citric and has some sweet caramel tones. Flavor is quite bitter with a stable malty backbone. Definitely some grapefruit and hop juice. Quite nice in balance, long, medium bitter finish. Nice.

5/1/13. 12oz bottle from Bad Habitz in Valdosta. Who thought of that name? Come on. Hazy orange pour with a small khaki head that fades but lacez decently. Mild soapy hop aroma with a big bitter kick, some citrus, caramel malts, pine, and a touch of booze. Sweet citrus and pine with pale and caramel malts in the flavor and a good kick of bitterness and booze. Not bad.

Pour is hazy copper. Nose is sweet pine, mango, floral notes and citrus rind. Taste is hoppy with nice bitterness. Taste is again piney with hints of mango and flowers with some toastiness. Mouthfeel is medium with a slight oiliness. Overall pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. After a big Belgian beer and a cider I’m really craving some hops. This should do it. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a medium sized off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of resin and citrus hops with a big toffee malt backbone. The taste is toffee malts, citrus and resin hops and a bit of umami. Medium-full bodied, lingering bitterness, faint alcohol. Well balanced. This hits the spot.

Bottled, came gushing out of the bottle strangely enough. Clear amber color, short head. Leaves a wonderful lacing to the glass though. Aroma of piney hops, grapefuit, biscuity malt, a bit soapy. Typical big american DIPA, but a bit more faint. Quite bitter taste, with again a malty body, some sugary sweetness left as well. I cant put my finger on it, but it just feels like a regular DIPA, but there’s nothing special or spectacular about it. It lacks soul or depth or something. Straightforward DIPA.

Lovely floral hoppy aroma. Pours a copper orange color with a full white head. Tons of lacing. The taste is a bit more bitter than I would like.

Bottle. Clear amber liquid with huge off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, biscuit, caramel, tangerine, grain and bread. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of caramel, dried fruit and citrus. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Yet another way-too-malty-and-not-hoppy-enough DIPA. Meh.
