COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust. Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangoes, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

MALTS:
Pale Two-Row, Victory

HOPS:
Columbus, Chinook, Cascade

Pours amber with a large lasting head. Nose shows heaps of pine and a fair whack of sweet clean malt. Pretty straightforward but still nice. Very similar flavours but with some grapefruit and resinous notes along with a hit of booze. Carbonation feels a bit full on.

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£3.80):
Pine hops upfront with a lot of citrus & grapefruit backing it up, there is a hint of tropical fruits too that give the beer a refreshing aroma on the nose. There is a sweet, malty base to the beer with some nice caramel notes & a bit of mango and orange too.
Golden amber colour with 1cm, foamy white head with some lacing on the sides & holds pretty well.
Very bitter double IPA with lots of pine hops hitting the taste buds straight away, along with a solid grapefruit taste. Tropical fruits from the nose with the citrus coming through as well, but the pine seems to dominate here. Around the middle some caramel malts & a sweet base.
Smooth & very bitter with a medium body and moderate carbonation. The alcohol content is pretty well hidden in this one and the finish is a sweet one with a lingering bitter aftertaste & a nice tang on the tongue towards the end.

A great west coast IPA, coming through as intensely bitter & hop filled as you would expect from the start & also boasting a great, sweet and malt base than complimented the pine and grapefruit well. The alcohol was well masked & the beer was excellent from the start.

Gluepot (53) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2014
Piney and citrus hints in the nose along with bready malt. The taste is a bit underwhelming for the 8.7 ABV and the array of high impact hops used in the brewing process. If anything, the hops play second fiddle to the malt base and the taste thins out fairly quickly

bottle. Pours golden, clear with white head, some lacing. Aroma is hoppy. Columbus hops noticable... but i dont like columbus hop aroma, a bit alcohol. In taste some sweetness, balanced by medium+ bitterness, alcohol and some onion(Columbus hop) noticable. Thick mouthfeel, bitter finish.

Hazy orange color with a lush, foamy head. Tangerine, mango, pine, honey, yeast, hints of coriander and vanilla, tons of hops. Honey sweet start, in a full body, plenty of carbs, and a dry, truly bitter, lasting finish.

!2 oz. bottle. Pours a thick well retained ivory head, with extensive lacing, over a clear medium amber (SRM 12) body....nose is pine, resin, citrus peel from the hops, toasted malts with toast biscuit, toffee/caramel from the malts.....taste is sweet toffee/caramel malts, with later cereal and light roasted tones, leading into pine, melon, pineapple, floral honey tones from the dry hops, finishing with a moderate lingering hop bitterness.....mouth feel, heavy, not chewy. body, slightly sticky, alcohol warmth present, mild astringency, carbonation low with light acid. This falls well within the American I/DIPA. This is a strong sweet beer and is a bit heavy for the style. To be amongst the very best, which are a bit lighter, it needs greater attenuation, and perhaps a lowering of the quantities on the malt bill. Perhaps a yeast change or recharge would do the trick.
