4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Golden orange with a slight haze and a white head that fades quickly. Aromas of dank pine and solid citrus and tropical fruit. Orange rind and piney flavors dominate. Finishes with a lingering bitterness.
Great West Coast hop profile, pretty damn tasty.

12oz bottle -
It really wouldn’t surprise me to find out that this is a reproduction of their 20th Anniversary IIPA because it had many similarities. A balanced approach to the aroma and palate was well served. Aroma of orange juice with pine needles. Flavor of grapefruits with white sugar...bitter but sweet enough not to be harsh.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Any other flavors are overpowered by booziness. Harsh.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass.
A: Pours a slightly hazy orange color. Forming a big and creamy white head. Great retention and lots of lingering lacings formed and left in the glass.
S: Strong notes of caramel malts and tropical fruits. Grapefruit, pineapple, mangoes. Pine and citrus hops profile. A must.
T: Slightly sweet upfront. String malt backbone. Strong notes of tropical fruits in the mouth too: Grapefruit, pineapple, mangoes. Notes of vanilla and sweet cake. Great bitterness. Amazing balance.
M: Creamy and smooth heavy body. Medium carbonation that fits to the style. Great sweet malty and fruity AND hoppy aftertaste.
O: Excellent drinkability. Magnificent IIPA.

Een heerlijke Amerikaanse Imperial IPA. Mooi goudkleurig bier met een bescheiden schuimkraag. Geur van hop, mout, bloemen, citrus. Smaak is uitermate hoppig, bloemig (rozeblaadjes), citrus, bitter. Heel lekker!

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
West coast ’imperial IPA’ with medium thick, coarse, sticky and very stable head staying closed all the time, over a deep and warm orange blonde robe, clear with very little sparkling. Strong aroma of grapefruit, the white underside of fresh orange peel, mango, passion fruit, cognac, vanilla, freshly grated ginger, vermouth, rose petals, paprika, walnuts, strong old cheese (probably ageing of the hops), cumin seed. I could not stop myself from sniffing the glass. In the mouth: totally refreshing onset, a basket of exotic fruits, orange and apple, initially sharpish carbonation, slick, rounded and somewhat oily mouthfeel, honeyish sweet malts in the background, from the middle onwards overpowered by a citrussy, resinous, spicy hop bitterness, dry and very long but not too much ’bite’, very elegant and balanced and leaving just enough room for a lingering fruity sweetness and warming but very agreeable, brandy-like alcohol. An IPA of great finesse and elegance, I have fallen in love with this style a long time ago and I’m happy to find these beers are slowly but steadily penetrating the Belgian beer landscape as well.

Poured from bottle, clear amber with medium head. Strong aroma with clear notes of friut, pine and resin. Taste equally strong with a lot of bitterness, notes of citrus, herbs, honey and resin. Bitterness all the way to a long and pleasing finish.
