COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust. Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangoes, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

MALTS:
Pale Two-Row, Victory

HOPS:

Clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is some grapefruit with big hops. Flavor is a little overwhelming with bitter grapefruit hops. Very citrusy. Could use a little more balance from the malt. Not bad, but it could be a little more refined.

Bottle from the Boulevard: Appeared as a solid golden liquid with a frothy thick head that foamed up like shaving cream. My nose is instantly gratified with a heavy dosage of floral hops that scream of citrus fruit such as grapefruit while scents of pine and sweet onion. As for the drink, an intense flavor of bitterness takes me over and puckers my mouth and face up as if I took a bite out of a lemon along with its peel. Very strong hops dominate this beer and bring out other notable taste such as lemon/lime zest, acidic grapefruit juice and touch of sweetness from the forgotten malts used.

Draught at Taphouse. Clear amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of fruit, hops, alcohol, citrus, pine, malt and caramel.

Pours an amber color with a nice off white head that staid a while before leaving a ring and some lacing around the glass. Aroma of citrus sweet candies and hops. Flavors of hops, malts, yeast, citrus, herbs and hints of caramels. Creamy in mouth, nice smooth long bitterness, medium to full body. the end was more of a light sweet bitterness. But somehow, tastes started to be less present around the end.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours orange with a big off white head. The aroma has candied hops, lemon, grapefruit and orange. Mild caramel malt and toast. The flavor is potent with lemony bitterness, florals and candied orange. Pretty tasty stuff.

Single bottle from Lemon Tree. Big spongy head at pour. Smell is big on hops, but more balanced than the Sam’s Rebel IPA I had before. This one is a bit more citrus and apricot, with pine needles along the way. Taste bring in the same hop impressions as I had on the nose. Almost tongue-curlingly bitter, with toasty malt fighting to provide balance. Too much hop to let any alcohol notes get in.Despite all that, it drinks pretty easily, leaving a bigger wallop of hops as an after-taste.

Bottle @ Lilla Puben, Kalmar. Hoppy and malty with fruity notes, caramel, grapefruit and pine needles, sweet and quite bitter, medium body and oily texture. The finish is dry and bitter with hoppy notes and caramel.

Det här var en skön och välhumlad sak, kroppen är riktigt stabil och balansen var fin den också. Smaken bar toner av grapefrukt, äpple och druva.

Rating #1039 - March 27, 2014 - Anderson Valley Tap Takeover @RevolutionYEG 8.7% . Clear golden pour with a bubbly white foam, spotty lacing. Nose is tangerine, mango essentially the tropics in a blender. Mouthfeel crisp, mild alcohol warmth, low-medium carbonation. Taste is sweet orangey/meyer lemony notes with the spicy tang and hoppy bite. Boozy, hoppy, and unreal flavour and balance. Superb.

Very hoppy aroma what shouldn’t surprise. The bitterness is just huge and amazing. You can’t feel alcohol at all. Mostly hops and hops. It’s trying to be moderate by some sweets, but loads of hops determine the taste and aroma.
