At first a fruity bittersweet taste, some grape and a bit honey sweet. A loooooong powerful bitter aftertaste.

Golden orange with a slight haze and a white head that fades quickly. Aromas of dank pine and solid citrus and tropical fruit. Orange rind and piney flavors dominate. Finishes with a lingering bitterness.
Great West Coast hop profile, pretty damn tasty.

12oz bottle. Orange pour, white foam. Aroma of hops oils. Sweet scent, citrus oils, pine, hop resin. Great smell. Taste is of fresh hops, hops oils. Sweet malt backbone gets put in the back, under hops. Nice layer effect of malts to hops. Very well done. A very nice Double IPA. (3745)

Good overall IPA. Great cloudy amber color. Smooth and not too bitter. Compares to Bell's Two Hearted or Founder's Centennial.

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£3.80):
Pine hops upfront with a lot of citrus & grapefruit backing it up, there is a hint of tropical fruits too that give the beer a refreshing aroma on the nose. There is a sweet, malty base to the beer with some nice caramel notes & a bit of mango and orange too.
Golden amber colour with 1cm, foamy white head with some lacing on the sides & holds pretty well.
Very bitter double IPA with lots of pine hops hitting the taste buds straight away, along with a solid grapefruit taste. Tropical fruits from the nose with the citrus coming through as well, but the pine seems to dominate here. Around the middle some caramel malts & a sweet base.
Smooth & very bitter with a medium body and moderate carbonation. The alcohol content is pretty well hidden in this one and the finish is a sweet one with a lingering bitter aftertaste & a nice tang on the tongue towards the end.
A great west coast IPA, coming through as intensely bitter & hop filled as you would expect from the start & also boasting a great, sweet and malt base than complimented the pine and grapefruit well. The alcohol was well masked & the beer was excellent from the start.

355ml bottle from The Wine Emporium. Big tongue numbing beer that shocks the palate with hops. Enjoyable though.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
West coast ’imperial IPA’ with medium thick, coarse, sticky and very stable head staying closed all the time, over a deep and warm orange blonde robe, clear with very little sparkling. Strong aroma of grapefruit, the white underside of fresh orange peel, mango, passion fruit, cognac, vanilla, freshly grated ginger, vermouth, rose petals, paprika, walnuts, strong old cheese (probably ageing of the hops), cumin seed. I could not stop myself from sniffing the glass. In the mouth: totally refreshing onset, a basket of exotic fruits, orange and apple, initially sharpish carbonation, slick, rounded and somewhat oily mouthfeel, honeyish sweet malts in the background, from the middle onwards overpowered by a citrussy, resinous, spicy hop bitterness, dry and very long but not too much ’bite’, very elegant and balanced and leaving just enough room for a lingering fruity sweetness and warming but very agreeable, brandy-like alcohol. An IPA of great finesse and elegance, I have fallen in love with this style a long time ago and I’m happy to find these beers are slowly but steadily penetrating the Belgian beer landscape as well.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle@homa. Hazy orange color with a lush, foamy head. Tangerine, mango, pine, honey, yeast, hints of coriander and vanilla, tons of hops. Honey sweet start, in a full body, plenty of carbs, and a dry, truly bitter, lasting finish. Excellent. One of these everyday please.
